Update: The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls Requiem's Kickstarter is now live and, wowzers... Since going up on 1st June, the campaign has already amassed a staggering $3.66 million in funding. There are still 28 days left to go, so we dread to think how high the number will be by the end.
Back the project here, and learn more about it in our original article below.
Orignial Article (Tue 25th May, 2021 15:30 BST): Back in 2018, The Binding of Isaac game designer, Edmund McMillen, set up a Kickstarter to fund Four Souls – a card game inspired by the popular indie title. It ended up generating a whopping $2.65 million, and the card game hit retail stores the following year. Now, McMillen's back with a new expansion for the game and a new Kickstarter to bring in the cash.
The expansion is called 'Requiem' and adds more than 200 new cards to the already-existing Four Souls game. The Kickstarter will offer multiple tiers for backers to choose from, with rewards like Isaac-related figurines, plush figures, apparel and more being available depending on your choice.
Perhaps the most desirable of these rewards is the treasure chest which can hold over 1,000 cards in protective sleeves and comes with "multiple surprise goodies" alongside the new expansion.
If you want to be reminded when the Kickstarter goes live (which will happen on 1st June), you can sign up for notifications here.

Already have the first one and still haven't played it, but the artwork is brilliant. But will probably cave and get this one too.
All I really want is the expansion for the actual Computer Game
@Bunkerneath Reminder that the original kickstarter for four souls did so well that it lead to a final TBOI expansion. The goal was $100k and no more was needed and it ended up with 2+ million.
I have enjoyed the game, although I have only played it with one other person at a time. The artwork is beautiful, and the card game manages to recreate the spirit of the video game with its level of randomness, difficulty, and synergy. My only complaint is that you have to rely on dice rolls, and I have a rare condition where I can only roll crap numbers.
I may back this one.
Oooh! I’m definitely going to look into hacking this. This game is like... playing the fun part of monopoly? It’s chaotic and a lot of fun.
I do have the base set and the expansion as well, unfortunately I haven't been able to meet my friends in a while, they don't really like the Binding of Isaac itself but I hope I could at least convince to give this a shot if only so I can try playing it once.
It’s terrific game that manages to accurately capture the essence of randomness that makes the actual game so fun.
Unfortunately, I was only able to wrangle my friends to play it once and that was because one of them got it for me as a gift. And yet, I’ll probably get this expansion anyway in the hopes someone will play it with me
@darkswabber Yup that's fine, but I'm want the Repentance DLC to be available on switch so I can play that
Edmund will send you a hand drawn poop, of course it will obliterate its targets.
Also, the first game and first expansion were a load of fun.
I was not expecting to click on this article and see a picture of The Professor in the thumbnail.
The guys rich and could afford to make this without Kickstarter. Never surprises me how easy some people are to con.
The first one is very mediocre. The second I assume will be as well even more so considering it is a card game.
@noobish_hat think of it more as direct to customer presales, as many of the kickstarters are from established parties. It also allows the people behind it to interact with buyers and additionally the “fear of missing out” on the Kickstarter exclusive bits will drive more day 0 purchases than they’d likely get with direct to retail. The campaign and stretch goals also provide a bit of a end user social media marketing campaign where bonuses for the Kickstarter are tied to backers essentially promoting the product on their behalf.
@Bunkerneath your talking about the tabletop simulator version cuz the expansion of isaac is already out.
Oh man, I hope I'm not too late for thisss...
