As if last year's 35th-anniversary celebrations weren't enough, it's time once again to celebrate our favourite moustachioed plumber thanks to the timely arrival of MAR10 Day!
Yes, as has become an annual tradition, March 10th is the perfect day to share our favourite memories and general adoration for good old Super Mario himself. Why? Well, because Nintendo says that 'MAR 10' looks a bit like 'Mario' and for some reason, everyone just rolled with it. Why not, eh?
The celebrations actually kicked off early with some very welcome Mario game discounts available on the Switch eShop and at retail in North America. Mario Kart Tour is also getting in on the action with a brand new 'Mario Tour', perfect for anyone wanting to celebrate the day with a special spot of racing. Of course, there's also the ever-looming Mario Doomsday to worry about, so ups and downs...
Since last year's MAR10 Day, we've had a whopping five Mario games launch on Switch (technically more than that if you split up the remasters). We had Paper Mario: The Origami King last July, followed by Super Mario 3D All-Stars in September, Super Mario Bros. 35 and Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit in October, and then Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury this February. We've also got Mario Golf: Super Rush on the way this summer, which is looking particularly lovely.
Do you think we'll get another couple of Mario game reveals this year? A Super Mario Odyssey 2 perhaps?

I just said in the Chit-Chat thread that NL didn't publish a commemorative article on MAR10 day... and now this. Perfect timing, and happy MAR10 day everyone!
Already celebrated a bit by playing some Super Mario Party mini-games, and wearing my Princess Peach shirt because it's one of the few Mario themed things I have to wear.
Maybe play another Mario game later, not sure which one yet.
It's the 11th here and I did nothing Mario related yesterday so that's that I guess.
Ill celebrate by playing through Super Mario 64. Hopefully this year they bring Galaxy 2 to switch but who knows

I tried to hold out as long as I could because I didn't want Nintendo getting the idea that I supported their limited availability bs but it's already sold like a bajillion copies so it's not like it's going to make a difference now. The artificial scarcity stuff has already worked. At least playing Galaxy in bed will be worth it
If I can find it for cheaper than full price that'll be even better because I still don't think the collection as it is is worth anywhere near 80 CAD without extras and the mostly barebones emulation

I got 3D All Stars for Christmas, since I just finished Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity yesterday, I may break it out and play it to celebrate Mar10 Day!

i've been playing galaxy with my wife.. I think are have around 70 stars so far.. towards the 120 and then I'll open my 3D world!! Like everyone else above, I'm thirst to galaxy 2, odyssey 2 and MK9!!!!

I’m still contemplating whether to get physical copy of 3D all stars. I have it digital but mite give in x x I’ve not looked into it but if my switch lite dies, and I buy another can I redownlload games already purchased. If I can then I won’t bother xx
Coincidentally it's my gaming friend's birthday too. He's the one that nagged me to get Mario Kart 7 & Splatoon 2, and I'm glad he did. They're my favorite games.
I'll probably play Rocket League, maybe Splatoon. I already played the heck out of Mario Oddysey, one of the best games ever.

Feeling weird because it's been a year since Lego Mario was announced!
I doubt I'll get around to anything Mario-related today, but I do intend to grab a physical copy of Super Mario 3D All-Stars before the month is out. I was holding out to see if they'd release the titles individually (and for all I know, that may be the case) as the only one I haven't played is Super Mario Sunshine. However, the other two are certainly worth it in portable form.
Damn, some people are real salty about Mario Day. Ya'll need to put on the Jolly Roger bay theme and chill.

I love MAR10!!! I will certainly be playing Mario 3D World on my Switch, whilst wearing my Mario Sunshine Puma T shirt...and I will have pasta for my dinner and invite all my Mario amiibo. I love that old guy!!

I'll go visit Nintendo's island in Animal Crossing and see how they used the Mario items.
Many mascots have come and gone. Some have managed to endure thankfully to being great games. But each one was cynically made to become a mascot for a company wanting to challenge Nintendo. Aggressively, I might add. 'SEGA does' and 'Hey, plumber boy!' Hilarious (but man, American advertising, huh?')
Point is.
Mario started as a bunch of pixels thrown into game ideas (where story and plot where but an excuse to make a video game - seems AAA have that backwards.) For decades he evolved as gaming ideas evolved. Jumping, scrolling, 3D (not to mention all his side jobs.)
Fact is, whilst other mascots represent their associated companies, Mario earned the right to be the mascot of video games.
On behalf of everyone who loves video games (inside and out) thank you Mr Miyamoto. From the bottom of my heart.

I have a very satisfying Double Crown, 👑👑, beside my Super Mario Galaxy save file, so I’m going to try and inch toward doing the same for my Luigi save file on the same game, via Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Happy Mar10 Day! Mario Number One!

Continuing my play through of paper Mario on switch. Is better than I was expecting so far though agree with others it’s a shame there’s no levelling up after battles...
I will probably celebrate by going to a gentleman's club. But there's a chance I'll get rejected at the door with a reason I've not heard before, turn around disappointed muttering something like "what do you mean the place got shut down after the strippers took off their masks..?", go home and play Super Mario World on my original SNES until I reach that frustrating ghost house which caused controllers to get bitemarks. Hopefully the new wireless 2.4g controller won't be blamed for lag and get the same spooky decoration.
Probably not much for me. I already played a ridiculous number of Mario games last year, and I just 100% completed both modes of 3D World + Bowser's Fury.

Happy Mario Day, everyone! Since I just finished both Super Mario 3D World and Bowser's Fury, I'm having a bit of a hard time what to play today, lol. I was thinking of starting a Mario drawing today, though!
I shall be playing some terraria, on mar10 day. Anticlimactic for sure, but it's what I'm in the mood to play right now.
I will pick up more Mario themed items in AC (and then return to Immortals Fenyx Rising).

I used some of my Platinum points to get a zipper bag on MyNintendo. I also bought a Bowser Jr amiibo while I was in the store page, because I'm awful at impulse buys.

@jorel262 : Nintendo's not going to withdraw all stock from shelves. That would be stupid and a ridiculous waste of money. They simply won't be replenishing stock after the 31st of March (i.e. continue to be available "while supplies last"). At least for once they have been transparent about a release going out of print (as opposed to the majority that go quietly, such as the Xenoblade 2 releases, Kirby Star Allies, among others).
@jorel262 You'll still be able to buy them from retailers while they are in supply. And probably scalpers.

Happy Mario day! My birthday is March 10, so I got a nice homemade dinner and a glass of wine from my girlfriend. Today we bought the new Mario game for switch and played through some levels together. Good times ✌🏻
