Although Nintendo said it would be focusing mostly on releases in the "first half" of 2021 during its latest Direct broadcast, there were still high hopes for some news about the upcoming sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

In the second half of the presentation, Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma, shared a minor update. Development is apparently proceeding smoothly and Nintendo "should" be able to bring fans an update this year. Here's exactly what Aonuma had to say:

"I'm sure a lot of you saw me and thought there might be news to the sequel to the Breath of the Wild game. Unfortunately, we don't have anything to share right now. Development is proceeding smoothly and we should be able to bring you some information this year. For now, we'll have to ask you to wait just a bit longer."

So, it sounds like this game might still be a while away from release. Were you hoping to actually see this entry in the latest Nintendo Direct? Do you think this game has any chance of arriving this year? Leave a comment down below.
