We're exactly a month away from Monster Hunter Rise's anticipated launch. Releasing on March 26th, it's a welcome return for Capcom's action RPG series to Nintendo platforms, after we missed out on 2018's Monster Hunter World. Initially announced as a Switch exclusive, Capcom has just confirmed Rise is now coming to PC – something that was reported a short time ago following the Capcom data hack.

Speaking to Fanbyte for an interview, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Yasunori Ichinose revealed the PC version won't launch until 2022, saying the port is “still very much in development.” Nothing was mentioned about other consoles, so for now, Monster Hunter Rise remains a console exclusive for Switch.

There's no reason for Switch fans to be concerned by this, as the duo confirmed how they “set out to make a game for the Switch”, fully aware of the console's shortcomings in doing so. That includes a strong focus on portability, advising gameplay is designed around "being able to pick up and play whenever you want".

As it stands, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin still remains a Switch exclusive. There's no news on whether that'll receive a PC port too, but we can't rule it out either, considering it has cross-compatibility with Rise. We're awaiting further details on that functionality, so we'll keep you posted as we learn more.
