Completed the Pokedex in the base game, have to be honest, for one of the biggest media franchises on Earth, the game feels antiquated. I can't believe they don't have voice acting for any of the characterd or facial expressions for the main player. No serious rivals like Gary, who really pushed you. Wish they added a real hard mode instead of players having to do it. Crown Tundra just feels like a bunch of fetch quests & the dynamax den takes way too long (have had teammates drop out and had to start all over). Really hope the series improves. Have put tons of hours into the game, so worth the money but it could be so much more!

I thought the Bundle pack for $90 was already complete without any upcoming updates. 😕

This game as a battle revolution type is solid. As an rpg not so much. The whole idea of exploring the Pokemon world is just that, to explore the world. This game goes from a few wild open spots with only 3-6 pokemon roaming around, to an on the rails experience that's so on the rails, you can't even turn your head to see the story that's supposed to be happening. I want this to be a demo/stopgap to something greater and now that GameFreak is literaly rooming with Nintendo maybe that will be the case. Here's to hoping they don't find a way to screw up the new Pokemon Snap.

There's some story progression with the legendary i already forgot the name of (calyrus?), but besides that and hunting for legendaries we've already hunted in emerald/platinum/HGSS/BW2/ORAS/USUM there's nothing really on the side to do. Unless you like grinding dynamax adventures for shinies but even that is tedious considering how difficult certain ones are (zygarde i just gave up I couldn't even kill it once let alone farm it lmao)

I'm kinda surprised for how big of a map they gave you, there's literally no reason to ever revisit the majority of areas of that map post story.

WhileDynamaxed; Galarian Moltres still uses Kantonian Moltres' icon. What a waste of a bug fix. Thought it would be at the top.

Maybe it allows Zarude to join Raids!?.

I wish we could all collectively stop acknowledging this game exists. I want GameFreak to work 20 times harder on the next one and that's not going to happen if they still see their last turd getting articles written about it, they'll think people give a crap.

@BetterThanVegas Fortunately GameFreak doesn't work on every Pokémon game, only the main series ones. How good the new Snap will be depends on Bandai Namco Studios.

Crown Tundra is amazing and really enjoy it.

@InsaneInfernape I'm having a hard time understanding you but the last part makes me think you're hostile towards me. I don't mean to offend, it's just my opinion that Pokemon deserves wayyy better than Sw&Sh and I want GameFreak to stop getting an easy pass just because of their brand recognition, they should be known for good quality first and foremost like Nintendo and their first party IP's.

Base game SS suck but I have to admit the dlc at least for me was excellent. I've already put well over 200 hrs thanks to the dlc I never would've been so invested with just the main game alone.

I doubt we are ever going to get the same quality of remakes like HGSS ever again, I've been playing Pokémon since the OG days and its just been going down hill in quality since the games hit '3D'

@mariomaster96 it probably would've sold more if they did a better job of adding all pokemon, and don't start with me on the sales, yeah it sold well but at least the backlash was big enough to force them to add 200+ pokemon with the dlc, and I'm sure by the time DP Remakes come out all the Pokemon will be added back along with an update to Sword & Shield to add all the rest of National Dex...So suck it shills!! you thought 400 were enough when Sw&Sh launched?? The DLC was planned way before the game was released and they sure as hell held PM back to give the DLC value just like they will with D/P remakes when returning PM will be a "selling point". S&S sold a f*ck ton before the DLC was even announced so the backlash was just a vocal minority who still got the game as Gamefreak were laughing money.

As for the games well while i would put them in the lower end of PM games they are still great games, 400+ hours i've sunk into Shield so i'm more happy i got it and the DLC>.

It's a bit of a scummy thing to do, but that's likely what happened. Backlash had nothing to do with the other pokemon being added. It was all about the money.

@wznzv well I think they definitely will because of the backlash, and no matter how many times you refer to the sales it will always be the reason I think they will add all the Pokemon, the backlash were at least significant enough in my view to make that difference, and Gamefreak is a liar because they said they cut the pokedex because of "quality animations" which was a proven lie because data miners found out they were using nothing more than an upscaled render of their previous models with minor touch up and tweaks which is not hard for $90 billion worth franchise..

All that leaves the fans like you and others is to keep complaining in hopes that it works. Me i know it's no where near the best but i had alot of fun with it.

Amazed people are still pissy, I am guessing they never played Black/White, X/Y, the abomination that was US/UM, or pretty much any remakes. As far as remakes go, HG/SS were easily the best, although the end game grind was awful. I'd toss up between S/S and Gold/Silver/Crystal for my favourite mainline Pokemon games. Having said all that, no game is perfect and I'm still glad I have played them all. When it comes down to the DLC, maybe they should have added in all the Pokemon but I think I actually prefer them going down this DLC route than creating a whole new game in the same area, just a second variant (US/UM) as it just becomes replaying the same thing for a small addition.

A little unrelated but I think the new Pokemon Snap looks amazing and I can't wait for it to come out, hopefully people don't decide to moan for years about that too.

Sadly, no, it didn't. Listen to interviews with Masuda and they always were going to add Pokémon back in, though the general expectation was through title updates and newer games rather than DLC. The general gameplan from here on out seems to be to showcase a cross-section of creatures from throughout the series' history to each new region, some with regional variants.

"Backlash" generally doesn't work with megacorporations like these unless and until it impacts their bottom line. It's also, incidentally, why Nintendo can afford to be so tone-deaf with Smash's competitive scene.

@RareGames honestly I think its just that people expected more with SwSh since its on the switch which is much more powerful than the 3ds. SwSh were bland and boring in a lot of of places but overall, in my opinion, kept the pokemon charm the series has.
But of course I agree that no game is perfect and so far every game was enjoyable in some way.
I dont mean to bring hate I just wanted to give my thoughts.

@RareGames well at least X&Y and Sun & Moon had all Pokemon, no one is complaining about the animation for animation's sake people already know gamefreak is incompetent when it comes to that department, people are pointing that out because they lied and used that as an excuse to cut half the pokedex and add them later for no reason.
