Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Revealed, A New Story Expansion Launching This Month Alongside RoboCop

Yes this is what I was hoping for, although the reveal of new characters actually made me disappointed once I saw it was only three. This was the perfect opportunity to bring back Goro! Are there gonna be ANOTHER two character packs after this?

This looks awesome! And Robocop, man, it’s the dream of every 90’a kid come true, to be able to pit the Terminator and Robocop on a death match. I like the returning characters as well. New stages, stage fatalities, and FRIENDSHIPS! Now I now what I’ll buy for my birthday!

I mean, I love the character in general. But he doesn't necessarily scream Mortal Kombat. Though I guess seeing as cyborgs are a part of MK lore anyways, it's not that much of stretch.

Right so it's good I'm still holding off on a complete edition release of this game for Switch

I bought this a few weeks back on sale for $20 thru Amazon but haven't played it yet. Not sure when ill have time to fire it up, but i do love me some robocop

@Gerald Why wouldn’t Hamster be able to get a license? If anything, this shows that ip holder of Robocop is willing to license out out their character in games. Did they give exclusive rights to Warner Bros. to use the character going forward? That would be really unusual considering its just a 1 character dlc. If WB was making a whole Robocop game, that might be the case, but even then thats like 50/50.

I'm always happy to see new content for mortal Kombat. It didn't even click with me that was fujin and not just hatless raiden from an alternate timeline.

Looks like I am going to dust off the game. Looks good.

I've been surprised how well MK plays on the Switch. I played with my friend on Steam, and was so impressed with the ridiculous story, I bought it on Switch. And I'm glad we're getting continuous DLC. I remember the Wii U getting shut out for stuff like this.

I can't give attention to two fight games at the same time.. even if I love MK (played 9 and X), smash fills my heart (and time). since there are so many big (in size/ mb) out there, if they release a komplete edition in one cartridge ill buy! til there I might have put 10 chars into elite (right now this is my goal)!

I was planing to get MK11 but after the initial reviews I never did.
Have they corrected all the issues with the patches?
I remember reading the krypt was almost unplayable, that the game crashes everytime you open a chest. And that the game crashes even on regular fights (a guy on reddit said it crashes 30 times per day).

I really want to play it, but I don't wanna go through all this hell.

Please share me a light about the patches and if they have solved all these problems. Thanks!

Now, I'm pretty sure I said I would like to see Robocop Vs Terminator before this game was released...so yeah...I'm bloomin' happy about this!

Took them this long to add in Fujin but Robocop hmmm. Well someone at Netherealm is probably a fan of the old Robocop vs Terminator storyline since Terminator is already in season 2 DLC. So MK9 we got Freddy vs. Johnny, in MKX we got Alien vs. Predator, and now in MK11 we got Robocop vs. the Terminator, make sense.

Is Aftermath paid DLC? Included for those that already own Premium edition?

An MK4 char over Reptile lmao the devs are officially nuts, they’d probably only bring him back in that giant tailed lizard form anyway since they obviously want to go back to that awful era of MK.

Guess it is time for me to pick this up, all DLC (new and old) + Original game is up on the eShop for $60.

@FargusPelagius Not sure what you're crying about, other than the micro transactions which all versions had, the Switch version plays just fine.

And here I was hoping it would some form of komplete edition with all the dlc attached. Alas netherealm still isn't getting my money!

@retro_player_77 it wasn't up to my expectations, a blurry mess. If they had used the older engine or tailored the graphics for the Switch it might have looked okay. The hair was glitched too, and it crashed after an hour's play, presumably because it overheated the Switch.
Not an impressive effort by anyone's estimation.

So glad we get more of Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa who played Shang Tsung in the first MK movie. I was disappointed he only had a few lines in the Krypt, now we get him front and center.

Have they patched all the issues it has when it was released? Does it still crash after one hour of gameplay?

@ReaperExTenebris I bought Dragons Crown Pro & SoR4 on PS4 for $40 (CDN) combined. No way I'm dropping likely $60 (CDN) on this DLC. I bought the premium version for that price! Actually it was less than that on an eshop sale.

@Cyberbotv2 Actually the game doesnt run so well on handheld mode. I mean, there is a weird shinning aura on everything. but on docked mode, yeah, I have no complaints. I also own the steam version, where I play with maxed out graphics. I will buy the expansion on switch.

@Darkyoshi98 possibly, no other game out of the 100 I have crashes except MK 11, hence why I uninstalled it.
Did you get it at launch? Perhaps they finally patched it at some point.
TBH the build quality of Switch is the worst hardware Nintendo has released, so who knows.

@luxoricious I've asked the same, I honestly cannot be arsed redownloading around 30 gig to find out it crashes and still looks a mess. All I got is that maybe my Switch is faulty, MK 11 is the only game that crashed my Switch. I'll simply play a game that I know works.

@Cyberbotv2 ...Well considering Predator (and Alien) is in Mortal Kombat X , I doubt they’ll bring them across.. but it would be great if they kept the ‘guest’ characters from the previous game... though they wouldn’t really be ‘guests’ if they did.

@FargusPelagius I have 11 since launch and played on Switch from 1 year in as well as a Switch lite without issue. Crashing could be overheating due to a problem, or could just be a bug with the game that you’re encountering of course, but personally haven’t seen a crash.

@Jawessome As a related note (and yes it’s obviously for a reason) but think how amazing it is that Mario 64 is an 8 MEGAbyte game.... I mean, I can barely get a single individual photo out of my camera for that file size that an entire multi hour game is contained in.

But anyway, his main concern would probably be that these days the game file sizes in general are sometimes quite ridiculous. It used to be the case that companies would go to great lengths to reduce file sizes to allow them to fit completely on the media they need to release on (Nintendo first party still have small file sizes but 3rd party games generally don’t for example), but it’s because now the same effort isn’t required (or taken).

Yes the graphics, fmv, audio is larger.. but they are still much larger than they ‘could’ be.

The only real reason it matters to me - is that the lack of effort in that area is a contributing factor as to why they don’t release the whole game on a cart but rather as a download (yes there are also other factors).

Are Fujin, Sheeva, and RoboCop part of the second Kombat Pack?
Or are the 6 Kombat Pack 2 fighters separate from the 3 fighters shown here?

@FTL cheers FTL I may try and redownload it at some stage to see how it copes. I am finding alot of games that reviews have said run "consistently" actually don't. So thinking my Switch could well have a fault. It's a launch Switch and the screen is falling out the front after playing Doom for six hours (the heat must have warped the plastic) when that launched.
Only other console to be that badly made was PS3, but that was fixable.

@FargusPelagius One thing I didn’t mention is that my experience is mainly with multiplayer and with a few select characters that I play all the time.... so of course the crashes you see could happen in places I don’t normally play.

@FTL well I'd played the training for scorpion, then I tried to go through arcade, and about 6 fights in, black screen then cuts to Switch home menu. Roughly an hour playtime.
Then I'd do some of the crypt stuff, play a few rounds in single player and again, crash after about an hour going to a black screen. Switch was hot but within tolerance, fan cycling normally. Played both docked but mainly handheld as that hides the (imo) poor graphics choices.
In comparison Doom I could play on a full charge for about 4 hours, plug in and carry on, Switch hot, fan belting especially in multiplayer. No crashes. Occasional disconnect from multiplayer matches but very rare, once every 10 hours of overall playtime. Clocked 200 hours on Doom, and about 20 hours on MK 11 before I uninstalled it, roughly 20 crashes, likely more.
