Nintendo has shared a list of the top 15 most-downloaded Switch eShop games of October 2019 in Europe, and the top spot has been taken by a familiar honky contender.
That's right, in its second calendar month on the market, Untitled Goose Game has managed to sneakily steal the number one spot away from its competitors. It almost managed the feat in September, too, but was just pipped to the post by some little-known franchise called The Legend of Zelda, or something.
Interestingly, Luigi's Mansion 3 managed to claim second place despite only being released on the last day of the month. A very impressive start indeed.
You can check out the full list below. It's based on the number of Nintendo eShop downloads (so no physical sales) in European territories during the whole month:
1. Untitled Goose Game
2. Luigi’s Mansion 3
3. Bastion
4. Hollow Knight
5. Transistor
6. Minecraft
7. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
8. Cuphead
9. Overwatch: Legendary Edition
10. Stardew Valley
11. 911 Operator
12. Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition
13. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
14. Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
15. Crypt of the NecroDancer: Nintendo Switch Edition
Did you download any of these titles on Switch last month? Any surprises in the top 15? Tell us below.

Untitled Goose Game is deserved for physical release.
I wanna try it if the physical release has been released.
Btw, HONK !
Bastion at 0.99 got what their developers wanted: attention. The strategy worked. Now let's see if it sells well at its standard price, which is the second and more important part of the strategy.
But it's nice to see Untitled Goose Game at the top, although it's undeniably due to the spectacular media attention it got.
Anyway, it continues to sadden me that most of the best-sellers are games that have physical editions available too, whereas digital-only games use to go unnoticed.
HOTLINE MIAMI IS ON DISCOUNT GUYS!!!! GET ON IT💪
Stardew Valley, still in the top 10! Nice! Loved that game! But I do wish that the super talented dude behind it would add a little more content. Some more crops or late game features beyond "huge amount of money to buy this thing".
I mean, I easily dropped around 200 hours into it, so it's not like I didn't get my money's worth! It's just that the formula is so good, I want to keep it going!
I went a little crazy last month and bought Untitled Goose Game and Ori and the Blind Forest. I finished both games with big smile on my face.
UGG and Ori are two fantastic games and I cannot recommend them enough.
Physically, I bought Link's Awakening and loved that also.
It is great time to be a Nintendo fan!
I must be in the minority. After all the praise that Untitled Goose Game was getting I bought it and played it. I can not say that I cared all too much for it. I do not think it is a bad game but I also do not think that it really deserves the top spot. For me it was more of just a “meh” kind of game.
And Mario kart 8 is still on there.
No The Witcher 3, but I guess thats a game most people got retail since the whole game is on cartridge. Also 32GB for a download title would be probably to big for many switch user.
First time in awhile that Minecraft didn't make top 5
Way to go Star Wars!
@Nintendzoey no I agree with you man. Untitled Goose Game was an over hyped meh game to me. I 100 percenter it in 5 hours and never played it again. It wasnt as high quality as other indie games like Hollow Knight, Castle Crashers, Celeste and Undertale which were cheaper, had a smaller budget, and are longer. Especially hollow knight and castle crashers which are both games with lower budgets but have so much attention to detail. Untitled Goose game only became popular because ppl want to be memers
Amazing that shovelware is still #1 this month.
Funny that Microsoft has 3 titles on this list. I guess if you can't beat 'em, join em - and I say this as a 100% Xbox fanboy loving the hell out of Ori and Cuphead on my Switch.
@PickledKong64
Or people genuinely enjoy it like I did.
