Update - Sun 13th Oct, 2019 10:55 BST: Following the reveal in September, the Undertale-themed songs for Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun! have now been released worldwide.
The pack will set you back £2.49 / $3.99 and includes three tracks – Megalovania, Heartache and Hopes and Dreams – and four difficulties for each one: easy, normal, hard, extreme.
The main game is also 60% off its regular price in North America right now.
Original Story - Sun 15th Sep, 2019 12:00 BST: Undertale fans got quite a surprise not long ago when Sans was revealed as a DLC outfit for the Mii Fighter (Gunner) in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. And now, just weeks later, Bandai Namco has announced three Undertale tracks will be added to its rhythm-based drumming game, Taiko no Tatsujin Nintendo Switch Version.
These three songs are Megalovania, Heartache and Hopes and Dreams (thanks, Japanese Nintendo). The DLC pack will be made available on 10th October for 400 yen. There's been no mention so far of the tracks being released the same day in the western version of the game, Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun!, so we'll just have to wait and find out.
If you're curious to learn more about this latest entry on Switch and perhaps missed it when it arrived last November, you can read the Nintendo Life review, where we gave the game seven out of ten stars. There's also a demo available to download from the Switch eShop.

Great, since getting the Ghibli dlc I’ve not really been following what else has been added.
Ooohhh, that would finally give me an excuse to bite, I love rhythm games.
I was momentarily interested at this game but the game + drum set was just a bit too expensive for something that I could very well drop in a few hours.
Not the best picks for Undertale music, Megalovania is good but the other two definitely would not be my first picks. Where's Death by Glamour? I'd think a track like that would be a shoo-in for a game like this.
I bought the game but I found it just wasn't the same. The song selection was so much less than the arcade machines and playing with the joycon just wasn't as responsive as I'd have hoped.
@Expa0 I personally love Hopes and Dreams, but I agree that Death by Glamour should be there. It’s a certified banger
Taiko no Tatsujin must be played with the original Taiko drum controller that comes with the game!
I do NOT recommend downloading it from the eShop or playing the demo with Joy-Cons. It will scare you away, and that's not what this game is about.
It's like the Pop'n Rhythm and Samba de Amigo games on Wii. They're made specifically with their own controllers in mind. Unfortunately with just Joycons/Wiimotes the controls are not precise enough and therefore the games are a pain to play instead of a joy.
The Taiko no Tatsujin DLC is an absolute rip-off.
Considering the volume of content that they have released, I would rather that they occasionally release a new instalment with all of the new songs in them instead. Sure, perhaps allow existing users to buy songs a la carte as DLC if one is only interested in a song or two, but to invest in all of the DLC is ridiculously expensive for what you get.
@SKTTR what about dk bongos hooked up to a gamecube converter?
@Roam85 doesn't work
@SKTTR Not entirely true.
I know a lot of people that like taiko without the drums, I also know plenty of people who became fans of the game by playing it in button mode.
Taiko with drums gives the best experience, but to say it's "the only way you should play it" sounds very elite...
I have the drums, but they are useless for the 90% of the time I play the game on the go, they are the proper way to play taiko but that's it, the game is as fun without them.
Same goes for people saying Hatsune Miku games "must" be played with a arcade controller for it, I have the PS3 one and it's fine, but where the drums with Taiko at least give you a different experience, arcade controller for Miku games barely does that.
Not to mention the expensive import price if you live in the EU.
@Roam85 I heard they would work, but I haven't tried.
@Rayquaza2510 I'm just saying I got the same feeling playing Taiko with Joycon, as I got when playing Pop'n Rhythm with a Wiimote: It was a remarkably bad experience.
Button controls? Now you're trolling. Playing a drum in rhythm is an entirely different experience compared to pushing buttons in the right moment minigame-like.
Also, Taiko no Tatsuji for Switch was bundled with the Taiko controller in EU (and I think worldwide) , no need for expensive import.
@SKTTR Taiko no Tatsujin was download only in America, so I guess that rules out the bundle. Last I checked, the drum cost $150 to buy separately. Personally, I've got no problem playing it swinging the JoyCons around. Sure, the precision could be better, but I guess it all hinges on your attitude toward games like this. I just have fun drumming to the music, and if the controls keep me mostly confined to the two easier levels (and lets me real, my lack of rhythm), oh well, I'm still having fun. I could certainly see how someone who takes the game more seriously and is really into passing the higher level challenges would find it frustrating... But fortunately, I'm a filthy casual not bothered by such things!
I've really loved this game when I got it, and some of the dlc I got is really cool, so definitely gonna pick this up if it releases in the west
Damn, I read this as tatsujin aka truxton coming to switch.
Im not interested in this game...but dang it Undertale has the best music I have ever heard in my life!
I wonder what’s up with all those crossovers.... the fact that it only comes for the Nintendo switch version is interesting, does Nintendo has any big plans for Toby fox? Maybe they are looking to hire him? (Sans in smash, Toby help with the music of “Town” and now this....)
@Doofenshmirtz Same Here!
Button controls for taiko are pretty great especially w/ detached joycons. Touchscreen is ok too. The Hori drum is problematic and creates many problems for its owners. Check on google for the many, many forum conversations between people with Hori drumcon problems. If you want the truest available experience you have to order the taiko force lv 5 from that one guy on taobao for $400+. and even that handmade peripheral has a problems which are it doesn’t support “big” notes and also doesn’t have the best base.
Just to confirm the DK bongos do work
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/07/random_dk_bongos_are_the_perfect_substitute_for_hori_taiko_drum_controller
Why is undertale so popular? I don’t get it.
They were really srsly when that intro to add alot of dogs..
@SKTTR No there you read my comment wrong.
The Miku proper acade controller is an very expensive import, Taiko on the other hand is less expensive to import for PS4 (digital only in the west) and the Taiko bundle with the drums sold out very quickly and is EU only (digital only in the US)
And no I am not trolling, you understood my comment wrong because I don't claim taiko with buttons being the same, I said it plays fine with buttons even while playing with the drums is different.
Also I said the drums are pretty much useless for on the go gameplay, but I never said playing Taiko with buttons is the same.
The "it's almost the same gameplay" was what I meant with the Hatsune Miku games controller vs arcade stick, as I do own that one on the PS3.
I wish it had Spider Dance, Berguntruckung and Death By Glamour, but I'm still very happy with this. Maybe they'll make another pack sometime?
Already downloaded and loving 👌
It's a nice crossover but I'll wait for any other Ghibli/Vocaloid DLC songs.
Or maybe some more pop songs, TT works pretty well so I wouldn't complain if they added more Twice
I was kinda hyped for this sale, but after taking a look on DLC list, I found out half of the game's content is sold separately.
@Heavyarms55 You forget that Japanese arcade machines are (IMO) basically the best consoles in the world. All jokes aside though I see your point the selection is a tad lacking. I would just use the Button controls if you really have an issue.
