If you've been eager to try out Yoshi's Crafted World and don't think you can hold out much longer, Nintendo has now released a demo for the beautifully crafted title on the Switch eShop.
Apart from this exciting news, more footage of the game was also shared during the latest Direct presentation. It confirmed players would be able to unlock more than 180 different costumes, including a Nintendo Labo inspired outfit. Here are the fine details, straight from the press release:
Yoshi’s Crafted World™: Before Yoshi’s Crafted World launches on March 29, Nintendo Switch owners can head to Nintendo eShop to download a free demo for the artfully handcrafted game starting today! In the Yoshi’s Crafted World game, players can explore the Front and Flip-Side of stages while rafting, racing solar cars, tearing through the sky on a plane and experiencing many other wild and surprising gameplay sequences. Using coins collected through the varied and secret-filled levels, players can unlock 180 different crafted costumes that Yoshi can wear.
Will you be trying out the demo for Yoshi's Crafted World? Are you looking forward to the game in general? Tell us in the comments.

I’m waiting for the demo. I need to sleep. I’m waiting for the demo
This is another one that I really love how it looks, can't wait to play the demo and that camera switching mechanic is looking pretty interesting and some very clever level designs from what we've seen so far
Yoshiiiiii. Might consider getting this game day one.
looks great just would wish that yoishi's island was on switch
I will be playing the demo. But I would probably have picked the game up either way. lol
I always buy the Yoshi games, but I am yet to complete one. There is just something that doesn’t grab my attention and keep it. It looks fantastic visuals wise but they always do.
I didn't know we were getting a demo of this today as well, must have missed that part. I keep opening the Eshop to see if 99 Tetris and the Daemon X Machina demo are available yet but nope. It's 6am and I haven't been to sleep yet but knowing a Yoshi demo is arriving soon means I'll just have to stay up a bit longer.
Am really hoping the coins for costume machine isn't down to chance and you end up getting useless duplicates like on Tropical Freeze.
I'm getting the demo even tho I preloaded the game to my Switch
@OorWullie I’ve been doing the same. They said after the direct and I rushed to the eshop for Tetris
Just got the Pokémon Let’s Go demo yesterday and now this?
Bring on the free stuff!
@1UP_MARIO 99 Tetris, Daemon X Machina and Yoshi available now.
eShop, refresh, eShop, refresh, eShop... loading....loading....refresh, esho..
@OorWullie I thought they said Daemon X Machina beta was some kind of email invite?
@OorWullie thanks.
@OorWullie both on the UK store. Downloading X now.
@OorWullie All three demos are up now, so grab 'em while you can.
@OorWullie the nes games are here too.
@Indielink thats the survey.
@Indielink Nope. Some people will get an email AFTER having played the demo, probably for feedback for the developers.
@PhilKenSebben Oh, wait, that's already been done, then?
@ThanosReXXX Yep, playing 99 Tetris now and loving it. I'll get tens of hours of fun from this. Tetris Battle Royale, who'd have thought! It's a great idea to have it free for Switch Online too, the subscription's just paid for itself.
@Kidfunkadelic83 Cheers, 99 Tetris is preventing mine from downloading.
@1UP_MARIO Yep spotted them earlier today. Spent half an hour playing them, great additions that I'll actually play unlike most of the other ones.
@OorWullie Haha, maybe. Haven't dived in yet. Not too interested in NES online, and I haven't got any of the other games that require it.
Have fun with Tetris. Now all you have to do is find 98 other players...
@OorWullie I think having it free on Nintendo Switch Online is an excellent idea and hopefully a taste of things to come from the service! My Nintendo got off to a great start with the Zelda Picross game but then never lived up to that.
@ThanosReXXX It's surprisingly quick at finding 99 opponents, less than 30 seconds. Hopefully it will be able to keep that up. I reckon it'll get crossplay with the other versions.
@MJInnocent Yep definitley. Another couple of free online games like this and the service is looking much better value.
Yaay..... 😀
I have Piano LABO so I can try to use it when the game released. 🤓
This game looks amazing. I just hope the gameplay is a bit more challenging. If it is I'll get this
Please be as good as Wooly World
Please be as good as Wooly World
Please be as good as Wooly World
Please be as good as Wooly World
Looked very nice from the trailer anyway
How big is the demo in terms of file-size?
I avoided watching the Yoshi portion of the Direct since I really don't want to be spoiled, and I don't want to download the demo either. I want to experience the FULL game when that comes out, spoiler-free.
Other than Yoshi not scrunching up his face like he's straining when doing the flutter jump--I honestly wonder why they didn't do that here--this is looking really cool.
Just played the Yoshi demo and it is utterly wonderful, its made me want the full game right now!!!
I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE Yoshi’s Island fan. I’ll remain optimistic but this demo rather unimpressed me. And that makes me so sad yet hopeful the other stages will wow me. Maybe it’s just the level... ugh. Damn.
Normally I’m iffy on Yoshi games so I’m glad I can try it out before committing to a purchase.... Even though I already preordered it on Amazon to take advantage of a deal. Then if it’s horrible I can cancel my order.. a win- win.
Played the first level of the demo. Nice for a first level; super easy, but I expect (hope) later levels will ramp up the challenge somewhat. I do like the targeting of background/foreground objects.
Moving into the screen at right angles, on a predefined path, reminds me of “Bug!” for Sega Saturn. I liked that game.
...anybody else think yoshi is cruel in a cute way? I’m playing through this demo and I feel bad for the shy folks.
@Rodan2000 I’m very happy to hear that! Yoshi’s Island on SNES is one of my favourite games ever and I absolutely loved Woolly World on Wii U.
This game is beautiful. I don't usually enjoy games that are too easy (Kirby), but this one is just such a joy to look at and interact with that the low difficulty didn't irk me.
It reeks of Nintendo polish.
Play, replay, re-replay the same level on other perspectives? I just love it and I'm glad it's just a month away! BRING IT ON
Played demo; rather fun and looks great. Also feels better than a Woolly World. No matter how many times I played that I always lost interest. Maybe it’s because the whole wool aesthetic made each world feel the same bar some colours.
I might do a mini-lets play of this
Played the demo, the pace seems a lot slower than other yoshi games. I'll wait for a review.
