Hooooh! Some of those are really good deals!
On the one hand, it's business smart to not extend these discounts to Christmas, or New Year's day. Many who get a Switch for Christmas will have to get the games full regular price. On the other hand, it actually would be much smarter in the long term, for Nintendo to extend these discounts. People who get a Switch for Christmas would be able to take advantage of them. The question then comes down to: would Nintendo like to bolster a better relationship with its customer base by making money over a longer period of time, or prefer to fleece its customer base, and continue to only rely on their most loyal fans? The Switch is popular now, like the Wii was once.
As for people who already have a Switch, enjoy the discounts.
Bah humbug. Waiting on metroid prime trilogy to drop tonight instead
megaman 11 darn i already went nuts on the b friday sale
@ReaderRagfish it's gonna be YUUUGE
getting diablo and I will check and see if this extends to BCTB's dlc.
if only europe get these discounts.
Nice to see some actually decent sales from Nintendo lately.
I'm all good, though. Tomorrow, Smash releases, and I won't have time for much else for a while.
I am hoping beyond hope that they announce and drop Metroid Prime Trilogy tonight!
Dang, should've held off on buying Diablo 3. Feels bad man.
@Zelda79 Same, have been waiting for a sale on Yoku for a while and could not resist the 50% off. Hope it’s as good as the demo was.
Wish the FighterZ pass was also on sale, but can't complain since reindeer Krillin!
Thank you for caring so much about EU sale wise dear Nintendo (at least Diablo 3 has a nice sale but that's it)
Already have many of these. Out of the ones I don't already have, nothing I really want. I need to do a better job of waiting for sales, especially considering my current backlog.
Wait. Do people actually think Nintendo is going to drop Metroid Prime Trilogy tonight? On the eve of their biggest game of the year?
@flapjack-ashley Depends what you mean by drop. If you mean 'Announce Tonight, reannounce in the January Direct, release early 2019' like Bayonetta 1+2 then yes. I mean, I don't personally expect it, but people do. It's not like it's THAT unlikely, this event is the best place to reach people for IPs like Metroid.
@ReaderRagfish It is getting bigger year after year. Although I just watch it for the reveals, I enjoy watching the developers get somewhat recognized on the event.
@flapjack-ashley No one is not going to buy or play Smash if they reveal Metroid Prime Trilogy. Having more games to look forward to is always a good thing.
They put Xenoblade 2 at the top of the list...
The game to get shafted by the awards...
Wow, look, Skyrim is finally at regular price.
Wow, that is a hella good list of discounts! But first world problems, I have all the games on the list that I really want. lol
I caved and got Celeste.
Probably gonna get Diablo so I can play with my bf.
Picking up Diablo tonight!
Ugh, only in North America huh...
I’m just happy smash comes soon. I don’t believe a Metroid trilogy will be revealed or released today
You better pickup Elder Scrolls, Doom, and Xenoblade at those prices. Probably the last sale on these games for a long time.
Is it too much to ask to list prices?
I picked up Starlink for like $50 CAD which is a fabulous deal. I can't do anymore plastic toys so this was the best way to go for me. I may pick up Celeste, too.
@Rayquaza2510
I’m in the EU (for now). I use my US Account to buy these games. Easy. I don’t understand anybody who doesn’t do the same, and I didn’t understand non-EU Switch owners complaining about the Good European sale two weeks ago.
@electrolite77 I would do exactly that if my payment options could actually be used in the US. Unfortunately my credit card is not accepted in the US Neshop, & my paypal account somehow can't be linked.
@Takeira Call Paypal its simple.
Luckily, this didn't come to Europe, so I don't have to buy Wolfenstein this weekend either
Finally things that are on sale that should have had sales months ago or dropped in price. Mario Odysee for sure for me. Everything else is still miles cheaper on other systems.
@Takeira
I just use PcGamesupply. They usually offer a better exchange rate than my Revolut Card anyway.
It is sad in a sense to see that most of the titles that are multiplatform are still available for less (much less) on other platforms out there, even when on sale. I mean, I can get Doom for $18 right now instead of $40. And before someone says "yes but the added value of playing it on the go".... At $18, on PC, I can play it on the go on a portable console (GPD Win), or on the big screen TV too. So that's not an argument.
The reality is the Switch, even if I love mine, is the console on which it is the priciest to game on. It's like that brand that you pay extra solely for the "privilege" of owning that brand.
I'd love to play Doom, Wolfenstein or Skyrim on my Switch, but wake me up when the price for those are getting in the "normal" zone, compared to the competing platforms.
@electrolite77 That's actually perfect, thanks dude.
@Takeira
Glad to help.
I love Switch being multi region.
@electrolite77 I just linked an account to the US eshop and it makes more sense for UK owners to buy from there. The new games are priced say 49$ on us and 49£ on UK shop. Considering a $ is about 78p that's over 20% cheaper before you even consider sale items
@BigE
Yeah exactly. Better prices all round. Think I’ve got most of my games from there and the South African eshop.
This website is great. It tracks all regions prices-use the tab at the top right to change everything into GBP (or whichever currency you prefer) for a better comparison.
https://eshop-prices.com/
@electrolite77 thanks for the link, that's awesome. Looks like I'll be setting up some more accounts. At 1st I wasn't interested in saving a couple of quid here and there, but 20% is a different story. I don't even know why I'm buying more games, I've got about 7 I haven't started and my son let it slip that there's 3 more on the way at Christmas.
@BigE
Similar here! I think the bargain hunting is how my backlog got so ridiculous. Sonic Mania was I think £20 at launch but for some reason £9-something on the Russian shop. I picked up some Neo Geo games from Japan when they were £2.63. Oxenfree was £2.25 from South Africa etc etc.
Can’t resist a bargain apparently.
@electrolite77 now I have the link you posted I could be in bother
@electrolite77 after looking at the link you sent me I stumbled on another really great site via reddit, you may have seen it already

@BigE
Ooh that’s great, thanks
Yoku’s Island Express is a great game! It plays a lot like Nintendo Land’s mini-game Donkey Kong’s Crash Course.
