Pickaxe Cave Plummet - First Gem
Grab the pickaxe near the blocks where you first plummet and instead run into the water. Break the block in the corner to get the first gem.
Pickaxe Cave Plummet - Second Gem
You'll have to keep a chain of pickaxes going to get the second gem, which involves breaking everything ot hopefully uncover one as you make your way through the caves. The second gem is to the right after the second drop so don't miss it.
Pickaxe Cave Plummet - Third Gem
Above the exit star, use a pickaxe to break the block, drop down on the left, and pull up the mole to get a pickaxe. Smash the blocks to the left of the exit start to get the final gem.
Pickaxe Cave Plummet - Extra Challenge:
Pickaxe Cave Plummet - Pixel Toad
Reach the section in which you found the first gem and pull up the lever. Pixel Toad is hiding beneath this platform. You'll have to touch him quick though, as the camera will pan up. If you miss him, just drop a few levels in the cave and spin the camera around to grab him.
