Konami has announced several new additions for Super Bomberman R, one of which is a character addition coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.
Yes, as you can see from the brand spanking new trailer above, Max Bomber is coming to the game on Switch thanks to popular demand, allowing fans to ruthlessly fight enemies with his iconic electric bombs. Max will be joining in with the chaos "soon", with more details surrounding his arrival expected in the near future.
The company has also revealed that the original voice actors of Ratchet & Clank and Master Chief will be appearing in the upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game, faithfully recreating the voices of their respective Bomber characters. Thanks to these characters being owned exclusively by Sony and Microsoft, these extra additions sadly won't make it to the Switch version.

Do you still play the odd bit of Super Bomberman R? Are you happy to see more fresh content arrive for the game? Go on, drop us a comment or two sharing your thoughts below.

So Switch DOES get an exclusive character. Waited a bit late to mention that didn't they?
Also funny how a game comes to a Nintendo platform at an inflated price, with content missing, and when its in reverse the platforms get content added and a lower price.
Master Chief in a Bomberman game?
Oh yeah, that game was called Act Zero, wasn't it?
We still play this every once in a while for a Change of pace. It is quite surprising that Konami of all companies is still supporting this game.
Hmm..seems like a timely announcement. Bomberman for smash? :S
They should add cross platform play, online is empty.
I'll just play some more Bomberman 64 & Hero, thanks.
Well snap, it's nice to see Max Bomber again.
@WreckItRyan That would be amazing, especially if he has different elemental bombs from Bomberman Second Attack or vehicles from Bomberman Hero.
Charles Martinet for the Switch version would have been cool, but we'll take an exclusive character.
I wish they could have put in Samus. She could lay power bombs
"OOOH. Is that MAAAX?"
Wow, they are still doing things with this game? Thought it died out a month after it launched.
I wish online wasn't broken.
Actually, I wish the game was simply the superior WiiWare version, but as it is it's ok.
8-player games are a premium for me. Unfortunately, this particular Bomberman plays better with less players.
BAFL and Party Golf both have many more fans among my gameplay group than Bomberman does (and we play every week... So again, 8-player games are really appreciated!)
@Knuckles-Fajita
That's an absurdly cynic way to look at it.
The Switch had the game over a year earlier then the others, and if the Switch version had not been successful the other versions wouldn't have happened at all.
Also, by now the Switch version has been on sale multiple times for LESS then what the other versions will cost when they'll come out.
This game sucked hard on hairy bumeyes
Still not worth the asking price.
So when are we getting the update?
They could have added the obvious addition of the "permanently exclusive" character of Wario to the Switch version, but Max is cool (and will probably be added to other systems later...).
That's what she said
I'm picturing Chief in Bomberman. The more I think about it, the more I kind of want it. Might finally pick this up on Xbox when it's on sale
Just picked this up at Toys R Us for $20 recently. Nobody was online, but looking forward to getting some local multiplayer going.
This game could benefit from added cross-platform play. The online lobby for Switch is a ghost town.
@NinjaWaddleDee When it comes to Nintendo bombing, Link could also be a viable character.
Good Good.
