Last year we reported on the news that Black Riddles Studios is bringing Crazy Justice to Switch, a third-person, cel-shaded shooter game with cross-platform play that has been successfully funded via the fig platform.
The developers have now released footage of the game running on Nintendo's console, showing off its much-hyped "Battle Royale" mode - which looks a lot like the insanely popular Fortnite. (And before you ask, yes, the video was posted on April 1st, but Black Riddles has continued to re-post and talk about it over the past few days, so we can rule out it being an elaborate April Fool's gag).

Crazy Justice isn't just a clone, however - it features a cover system, destructible environments, upgradable weapons, skill trees and split-screen multiplayer support. It's shaping up to be quite impressive, so you can't really blame the developers for throwing in a Fortnite-style mode to capitalise on that game's popularity and gain Crazy Justice a little more attention. It also makes use of the Switch's motion controls for aiming, too.
With Fortnite recently coming to smartphones - and Epic's previous positive comments - we may well see that game come to Switch in the fullness of time, but until then Crazy Justice might be the best alternative. You can pre-order it now over on the fig campaign page.

Uhh... What? This looks nigh on identical to Fortnite. It does look good and props to them for making different mechanics, but it still seems like 90% a clone.
Not really into shooters but Splatoon proved to be a fun (if unpolished, incomplete and unbalanced) experience. Might give it a shot.
@NinjaAceTrainer Fortnite is a clone of PUBG, so...
Fig is still around? All signs pointed to it being a one-off scam for Psychonauts 2, to be closed 6 months after inception and cutting off "investors" and the dev from responsibility.
Will be picking this up.
Oh wow all the feels. They’re all here. Not one single feel neglected.
Splitscreen makes this a day one purchase, just like RICO.
It's so sad that most FPS/TPS don't bother anymore.
@Fazermint
Care to explain what exactly is unpolished, incomplete and unbalanced with Splatoon (2)?
At Last a Battle Royale Game on SWITCH Bring it ASAP
Splatoon unpolished and unbalanced lol ,what makes you say that ,what a ridiculous statement
Judging by the way the character spins around and looks at the ground a lot, the controls seem pretty tanky. I'm willing to give it a try since the pre-order is only $15.
My problem with these games is they don't give the player enough to do and customize. Where are the ridiculous rocket launchers, jetpacks, or vehicles? It's all just running through open fields and taking cover. Hopefully Ready Player One inspires these things out of devs moving forward. Sunset Overdrive and Splatoon are probably the best examples of player customization right now.
@Fazermint Splatoon 2 is without doubt one of the most polished and complete shooters you're ever likely to see, even more so once the new DLC arrives. Not sure how you can say otherwise?
A cover system and SPLIT-SCREEN multiplayer? This game is already better than Fortnite.
@Damo The games to me are two entirely different experiences. It's like saying an RPG is a clone of another RPG while ignoring extreme gameplay differences.
Saw this video yesterday and the game peaked my interest. Seems like a good substitute for Fortnite. Love the fact is has cross play with Xbox. Always looking for great options for competitive shooters on Nintendo consoles since they don’t come often.
@Damo and PUBG ripped off ARMA 3 mods, H1Z1 and a Japanese film. Your point?
Nothing is original it just matters who does it best.
@Nintendoforlife yup. This comment is over 9,000!
@Damo Its a bit harsh to call Fornite a straight clone of PUBG. It was in development for over 4 years, and was initially released as a PvE shooter. I paid for the founder pack on launch and really enjoyed the "Save the World" mode, but don't have much interest in 100v1 so never messed with Battle Royal, however I may have a go at the 50v50 if that ever resurfaces. And imo PUBG didn't invent anything. It, and this whole "genre" as far as I can see, is just a Free for All shooter with some specific rules and conventions.
@RusevDay That was exactly MY point - I was responding to someone attacking Crazy Justice because it was a clone of Fortnite.
This game may blow up on Switch if Epic Games doesn't get Fortnite out soon.
Pretty damn glad I backed this!
Any word on a release date for switch?
@Damo Actually Fortnite started out as its own original game where you had to craft forts and survive waves of enemies while completing an objective. But then they decided to go the Battle Royal Route since the original game didn't do all that well. But atleast Fortnite is an actual finished and barely buggy game, unlike PUBG which is still unfinished.
