The latest UK chart data, direct from Gfk/Ukie, are in and while they don't show a Switch-specific title in the top five (Monster Hunter World, UFC 3 and Call Of Duty WW2 claim the gold, silver and bronze spots, respectively) three of Nintendo's biggest 2017 hits are still very much in the top 10 mix.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe now sits in seventh place (it was sixth last week), while Super Mario Odyssey surges back from 16th to eighth place. Finally, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild dropped from seventh all the way to 10th, holding on by the skin of its hyrulian teeth. And, technically, a Switch game is in the top five with FIFA 18, so there's that, too.
Here's the official top 10:
1 Monster Hunter: World (Capcom)
2 UFC 3 (EA) - NEW
3 Call of Duty: WWII (Activision)
4 FIFA 18 (EA)
5 Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar)
6 Dragon Ball FighterZ (Bandai Namco)
7 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Nintendo)
8 Super Mario Odyssey (Nintendo)
9 Dissidia Final Fantasy NT (Square Enix)
10 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Nintendo)

We've been over this last week and how it's fine to post the charts. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has unfortunately disappeared again after its brief reappearance last week.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE A new Han Solo Star Wars trailer?
I don't even like UFC.
Too brutal, too Barbaric.
Not attractive sport
I wish K-1 World GP revived instead.
Male Kickboxer with six pack, built muscle and boxing gloves (not mma gloves, not sexy at all) always looks sexy to me.
Was there some kind of deal on Mario Kart 8 that's made it out-sell the other two?
Still can't justify another £50 for a battle mode :/
@SLIGEACH_EIRE you don't write for this website, chill and stop being so aggressive all the time.
@Rob3008 Nobody's being aggressive. Well nobody except you, ironically.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE At least the source link is working. Can't complain.
Been playing Fifa 18 (Switch) a lot this weekend... Very very underrated game.
May not be quite as shiny as its PS4 / Xbone counterparts but plays fantastically well which is the most important thing
Can't fault it at all
@Anti-Matter I really hope they make a game with a lot of sexy men for you. You have been waiting along time since k-1 and want hd sexy men
Man I wish EA would bring back fight night.
@kupocake The reason Mario Kart 8 Deluxe keeps selling so well is because it's Mario Kart. The fact it's a Wii U port doesn't make it any less likely to sell well (this is very important to keep in mind when 2018 ends up with a lot of Wii U ports).
Wish there were more big releases on the switch to be honest. Hoping the latter half of the year will see bigger announcements, not only from Nintendo but from third parties as well. No more excuses from third parties they know it’s a success now so hopefully games will come
@Grumblevolcano I actually think mario Kart is Nintendo’s best selling franchise at this point. It’s always sells millions and everything it’s released on
Someone get @Anti-Matter a cold shower 😏
@1UP_MARIO
HD Six pack men ?
I will get it from The Sims 4 PS4.
@Anti-Matter Sony does what Nintendont 😉
@1UP_MARIO
Actually, EA did first from PC version.
Soon, i can smell , eh... sense The Sims 4 will come to Switch.
@Marios-love-child agreed. It's a great game. Only issue is no online play with friends. Other than that it's a great game. Have put over 40 hours into it.
@blockfight
Yeah hopefully issues like that will be ironed out when the new Nintendo Online goes live in September
Saying that it'll be Fifa 19 time by that point (assuming the Switch version sold well enough for EA to deem it worthy of a sequel)
"Technicality" the FIFA18 is the PS4/xbox version. Nice to see MHW still up there. Fastest selling MH in the UK.
Nintendo should have had a big game out in the 1st quarter. Kirby and a bunch or rehashed games headlining 3 months is crazy. This is why the Switch needs actual 3rd party support.
Why, just WHY is GTA still on that list at all? I don't understand this planet
@NEStalgia
"Why, just WHY is ### still on that list at all? I don't understand this planet. "
That's why i Condemn to death that Damn game.
Cursed all the people who create that Damn game !!
That game is Pure Toxin, Tetrodotoxin !
@Anti-Matter It's a fun game. People like to play it.
What? MK8D still selling? But it's a Wii U port! That won't sell, what are Nintendo thinking etc.
Dissidia FF NT sold 5,000 copies, so every game higher on the list has sold more than that.
Seems like the Switch's Big 3 (Mario Kart 8 DX, Mario Odyssey, Zelda BOTW) will be among the Top 15 best selling games every week for quite some time.
@NEStalgia It'll stay there until at least the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, maybe even longer.
Switch drought. Was bound to happen. Hope it doesn't last.
@Marios-love-child Seems to be selling relatively well, especially over the christmas. Its regularly in the top 15 charts on the eShop.
Its probably sold well enough for them to release a 2019 version.
Remains to be seen what kind of version they do decide to release again though.
It will be interesting to see how well Bayonetta 2 + 1 performs.
Thus far, the two notable Wii U ports on Switch are Mario Kart 8 DX and Pokken Tournament DX, both of which were fairly popular on the Wii U (especailly the former) and thus even more popular on the Switch. Bayonetta 2 never took off on the Wii U, so I'm interested in seeing if it will "take off" on the Switch.
@Agramonte Fifa 18 Switch is number 28 on the individual format Value chart, revenue generated, and number 10 in the Switch only chart. No it's not contributing as much as the PS4 / XBox versions, nobody expects it to, least of all EA, but it IS contributing. It's comfortably outsold more recent FIFA on Nintendo systems at any rate, it's gonna hit 100k in Japan, possibly already has with digital sales included.
@Grumblevolcano @Anti-Matter I just don't get the enduring popularity. I mean I can see it being popular in its day, and having a successful run. But how is that the single longest running top charting game? I know the online mode is popular (I'll never understand why), and that adds legs....but how does that game remain THAT popular? It's not really that amazing a game. Even if you do like crime stories and thug life and sidequests about pot smoking. How is it one of the top hits for so many years month after month?
It's arguably the weakest actual game of the GTA history.
@Anti-Matter
Because it's a really good game available on lots of formats
@SLIGEACH_EIRE
Don't stop contributing to this site
@crackafreeze lol
@electrolite77 @NEStalgia @Indielink
Fun ?!
Seriously ?!
That's a Crime, Evil, Deadly Sin !
@NEStalgia I'm so confused about how it maintains that position. I can understand it still being in the chart but that high up is insane.
@Anti-Matter Yes. Fun. Seriously.
@Indielink It's a really weird phenomenon that it stays up there for that long. I'd be curious exactly WHO is buying it. What demographic, and what the play times are for them. There are a LOT of persistent online world games from MMORPGs to quasiRPG shooters like Destiny. I'm not sure why they have a hard time topping the ancient GTAV.
@Anti-Matter The game was "ok". I played it on PS4. Curious what all the hype was about and it was on sale. The "Ocean's Eleven" aspect of "the big heist" is cool, and I can see the interest in it. The parody of American life is entertaining (and likely has more meaning if you live in the US), BUT....that makes up a very tiny portion of the game. The rest is the worst kind of imaginable filler in an open world game with every cliche in the book, topped only by chess and other board games in Watch_Dogs and Assassin's Creed III. The game is dated, and is kind of hollow even in its day. They went light on the big story missions and set up the big sandbox world with "go find stuff to do and play with" but it feels like a collection of minigames at times more than a real game. Some of the characters are just obnoxious and get hard to take after a (short) while. Even aside from the themes of organized crime and/or thug life and vulgarity and your stance on them, the gameplay itself, as a game, is just kind of "ok-ish". It has some good moments, but nothing exceptional to keep it chart topping year after year.
Of course the online aspect is what keeps it going....and I understand that even less. People keep pointing to the social aspect of "play with your friends", but there's lots of other games that involve that, with arguably more to do together, and they dont' come close to topping charts like this. Naviandmii liked the "build your own race course" aspect of it....but I really doubt that's what most people are buying it for.
It feels like the kind of thing that 17-22 year old frat boys would, pot infused, beer swilling, be laughing like crazy saying things like "OMFG, dude, this is the funniest thing, like EVER!" and everybody sober and clean around them has no idea what they're enjoying so much about it
@NEStalgia
I really like it. I prefer IV and Vice City, and I enjoyed III more back in 2001 (it hasn't aged well) but I'd certainly put it ahead of the first 2, III without the veil of nostalgia and San Andreas.
I think there's just so much in the GTA games that they're an easy sell, plus the online, plus there's always a new generation of wannabes gangsters reaching puberty.
@electrolite77 "there's always a new generation of wannabes gangsters reaching puberty."
I think that right there is really the heart of it. Better yet, upper middle class suburbanites reaching puberty. Those other kids just go become actual gangsters.
"So much in the game"
Not really. Mini games....racing, golf, flying etc. I mean it's a lot, but it's just kind of detached mini games. Though 1-2-Switch sells.....
That'll knock it off the charts. Point out it's just a gangster themed Wii Play.
@NEStalgia
I'm Totally AGAINST Evil, Criminal, Gangster games !
Garbage !
@NEStalgia nicely summed up.
