The eShop has been a key part of Nintendo hardware for multiple generations, and we're starting to see the Switch catalogue grow quickly as more developers are given access to the system. Another intriguing title to add to the list of upcoming releases is Dimension Drive by 2Awesome Studio, which is heading to Switch (alongside PC) in Autumn / Fall this year.
It looks extremely promising for shoot 'em up fans; below is a description and trailer to showcase what it's all about.
Dimension Drive is a space shooter that challenges your skills in entirely new ways. Play two games at once on this dual battlefield madness set on a comic book universe!
Dimension Drive features single player, local co-op game modes. Unlock various weapons by finding secret data cubes in the levels and improve your arsenal for the ultimate fight.
Do you like the look of this one for the Switch?

This game looks awesome. I like the swapping mechanic and the game seems to have more personality than most shmups.
Plus, you can never have too many coop games.
looks interesting! the dual gameplay looks confusing but I haven't ever played anything like that before
That is crazy enough for me to enjoy. Reminded of people who play "Ikaruga" with both players at the same time.
Looks interesting and an interesting concept. Bit worried that it may prove a bit too hard to get a grips with durinh a fast paced shm'up but if they do it right it could work.
About the only thing not overly keen on is the character design; not that its bad though. Do like the banter during the game.
Looks amazingI I'm in!
reminds me of a really old side scrolling C64 game where you controlled the top and bottom half of the screen simultaneously but all actions on the top half were mirrored on the bottom... at least in this one you only suffer the consequences of 1 screen or the other.
One to keep an eye on.
Wow, that is quite amazing. Pretty good voice acting too. It will be on my radar.
Yes I do like the look of this. I think I'm onboard.
Looks great, I'm gonna pick this up for sure.
When are we going to get some 2D one on one indie fighting games the Switch?
Looking forward to the review.
looks good, let's see what the reviews say... now if only had someone to play shmups with!
looks cool. Glad to see Indies coming that aren't the bland 2D retro platformers we endlessly get
It's like Velocity did it on the Nintendo Switch, which is great
I don't want 2017 to ever end!
So your sidekick is Gir from Invader Zim?
@wasilewski What, like Pocket Rumble? It's still coming, apparently, but there have been issues with the online multiplayer. Looks cool, though. As for Dimension Drive, even the trailer made my brain hurt!
Looks pretty sweet!
Looks great! I sure hope they have online co-op because me and my sister would love to play this often together but we live about 45 minutes apart.
If it plays like Ikaruga - it's all mine.
Switch looks to be getting lots of these lately; not complaining.
@Shiryu Hi, just wanted to point u that Re: Legends has add a Switch goal. Awesome game that I wish it comes to Switch so if u can spread the good word it will be cool.
@JJ286 Ah, the monster training game! I saw it earlier today, but I am still at my "real" job, so drop a line to the guys at https://www.nintendolife.com/contact
@Krillin_ yeah, like Pocket Rumble. I'd like to see more fighting games other than the ACA selection.
Another e-shop game to add to the wanted list.
Hellz yeah! Some Mora didn't do it for me on the 3DS. This, however is a day one. That more than convinced me!
Ugh, not another phase shifting mechanic! Why can't developers just provide straight-forward action titles without ruining them with these stupid gimmicks?!
Looks nice.
Well that's disappointing. Judging from the photo in this article, I assumed this would be a 3D space action game.
But it's just another shoot 'em up clone...
