MixedBag has revealed that its Metroidvania title forma.8 is coming to the European Wii U eShop - as well as other platforms - later this month.
The game has been on our radar since 2014, and the developer lavished praise on the Wii U's unique controller in an exclusive interview with this very site in the same year. In 2015 it was confirmed that the title had been delayed for some final polishing, and last year it was revealed that it was also coming to the New 3DS.
After four long years of development, it's finally coming to the Wii U eShop on February 28th, alongside versions for the PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One and PC. It will cost £11.99 pounds / 14.99 Euros.
There's no word on the New 3DS edition, but we've asked and will update this post accordingly when we hear back.

Really liked the demo. Will definitely download.
I'll be interested to see how this reviews. Fair play to them for not giving up on Wii U, unlike others, including Nintendo.
I will be getting the Vita version, but its cool that Wii U owners have one more game to play through while they wait for the Switch.
Does anyone know what's happened to darksiders remastered for wiiu?
I'd been looking forward to this!
@sandman89 I'm starting to think that will become a Switch remastered containing 1 & 2, with 3 announced at E3
Looks interesting.
Nice to see some developers from my homeland keeping their promise to bring a game to Wii U, of all consoles.
Bel lavoro, ragazzi.
Art style and the floatiness of the 'character' you're controlling aren't quite for me, but I certainly wish it well.
I've been keeping my eye on this. Hopefully they didn't abandon the 3DS version.
What about a North American release?
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet... ok.
@FGPackers don't tease! That would be brilliant!
If there's a demo I'll try it. I didn't like the last indie metroidvania on Wii U.
Feels like I was excited about this about 10 years ago. The demo was a bit underwhelming though. Nice visuals and decent gameplay but a little slow for my tastes.
Looks good and fleshed out since that "Nindies" demo. I enjoyed the demo and thought it had some clever mechanics so I'll be looking forward to reviews. Hopefully NA soon? Seems like a good candidate to go over to Switch as well...
I was interested in Forma.8 when it was first announced at a past E3 and I played the demo but know that it's taken so long to come out and the fact that the Switch comes out next Month I'm not that interested in the game anymore at least the Wii U version I may pick up the 3DS version.
This looks fantastic! I can't wait for it
