These Pokémon GO updates sure are coming thick and fast. The release of the Pokémon GO Plus accessory has triggered a few new versions of the app and now Niantic is preparing to release another update.
It's apparently rolling out to iOS (1.9.0) for Android (0.39.0) and and Android devices as we speak and allows you to capture Pokémon using Incense with the Pokémon GO Plus - something that wasn't possible previously.
It also reinstates the feature which shows a map of where the Pokémon was captured on the monster's summary screen. However, the tracking system which was disabled a while back still hasn't been fixed properly, which is sure to upset some users.

The tracking feature was replaced with a new tracking feature. It's not going to be "fixed", nor does it need to be.
Not wasting $35 on this. I'll use that for Pokemon Sun and Moon, thank you very much!
@ALinkttPresent It just needs to be brough out worldwide.
@ALinkttPresent
They're currently testing an enhanced tracking feature with a few users. So yeah it would be nice if it does get released.
Kind of hoping that their 'minor bug fixes' might be their way of subtly fixing insta-flee as I've been calling it.
The GO Plus is still really handy for me regardless, but it does get a little annoying when everything flees after just one attempt.
So, we're finding out about this update today - does that mean the update won't actually be available until next Friday (like the buddy update)?
Tracking definitely needs to be fixed. I can't see how anyone could argue otherwise.
I have no incense, but thanks for the info! Lookin' for the update now.
@bngrybt You can't fix something that isn't broken... the current tracking system does work, it's just rather limited... so it needs to be improved, rather than 'fixed'.
That's nice. Hope the next update for the Go Plus makes it so it doesn't disconnect every time you decide to catch a Pokemon on your phone instead of pressing the button when it lights up.
@DragonEleven Improved, fixed, either way they need to do something to make the game feel like it's worth playing again. The buddy system is too much work for very little reward, and I don't feel like paying $45 for a notification light.
@bngrybt That basically makes it sound like you don't understand the buddy system or the Pokémon GO Plus, as the buddy system gives you free candies for no work whatsoever, and the notifications are probably the most insignificant part of the Pokémon GO Plus, with the other features actually being really handy for making the game easier to play with far less effort.
I would imagine they'll finally release the new tracking system with update 2.0. I play all the time without the tracking system so it personally doesn't bother me much. Way I see it, a tracking system at this point would be a perk more than anything. I usually do fine without it and in those rare cases I'm stumped, I uh.. do a thing. You know what I mean.
Does anyone still play this? Everyone I knew stopped playing it a few months ago.
Not playing the game seriously till they fix the tracker.
