A new 3DS firmware update has just gone live, and yes - you guessed it - it's all about the stability.
In fact, there's nothing else included with this update:
Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.
Just how much more stable can the 3DS get before it goes all the way around the other side and becomes dangerously unstable?

Don't install it. It will make the 3DS so stable, even the movements of the Earth, Solar System and the Milky Way won't apply to it and it will fly right into the sky. Or through the planet's core, depending on your location.
My 3DS is now so stable gyroscopic motions don't work when you tilt it; only when the earth rotates around it.
Can't wait for NL's report of the final 3DS system update: 3DS is now at maximum stability; dubbed most stable console on the planet.
I tried to drop it once, didn't work. Was I whom fell over.
It was at this moment, the 3DS is now known as the 3rd Dimension Stabiliser. Without it, the entire dimension would lose its stability and collapse within itself.
Brilliant news. Thanks
That`s impossible !
Even more stability ?
Too much for my 3ds...
Time and space is forever distorted.
insert stability joke here huehue
@Mad_Haus 3rd Dimension Stabilizer. I like that very clever.
Leaving the old and unfunny stability jokes aside, here's what was changed in the newest update:
Internet Browser (both ol' and new 3DS), home menu fixes, bad word (NGWord) list, Nintendo Zone hotspot list, DSP system module, friends system module and NS system module.
I guess you could say Nintendo has a stable relationship with its handhelds
non sequitur to the stability jokes: at the press conference for sony at tgs, a new musou game was announced by koei tecmo: musou all-stars. it has dynasty warriors character, and samurai warriors characters, like warriors orochi; plus characters from the atelier series, ninja gaiden, dead or alive (jiggly), and toukiden kiwami - i assume there will be more. it's for sony platforms only. my fearless prediction is that there will be a nintendo all-stars musou game as well for the nx. zelda, pokemon, metroid, splatoon, fire emblem, mario etc. bayonetta special guest.
The 3DS is so stable it forced Nintendo to delay the NX indefinitely.
I'm thrilled.
To be honest, I'm worried that next year we'll be once again playing on an unstable console - NX... It will be hard to get used to it after 3DS that is so stable...
@Waninoko Nice! Where did you find this out?
It's SuperUltraMegaHypeWonderfulDelicius Stable!!
XD
Can we lose the stability angle??? It's not just getting old but its been old for a while now. Please come up with something new?!

Ah, I love dancing this dance, Nintendo.
Thank goodness. I thought I was playing with too much power, but now this update will stabilize it.
My 3ds is more stable than a triangle.
I'm starting to feel a bit offended that ninty released such an unstable system in the first place.
I can now balance my 3ds on one corner.
The 3DS is more stable than the Greece economy.
I hope my 3DS is now stable enough to play Pokemon Sun. There will probably be another update. It will be okay.
@FX102A so basically, our 3ds's have become Chuck Norris!?!
Since this update, I've been considerably less clumsy playing I Love My Horse on 3DS with one hand whilst eating horseradish with the other.
Whoever created such stability needs a raise, stat!
Ah, the system update. One of the few times a year when I'll check Facebook and then maybe leave a comment on NintendoLife using my 3DS's web browser (assuming it loads properly). Levity aside, I am glad to see Nintendo making adjustments here and there on the 3DS.
Still not stable enough; needs 38,764 more stability updates.
....Remember when system updates were exciting?
Now more stable than the European Union #Brexit
Have they gone too far?
@chiefeagle02 They aren't really making adjustments, just trying to block homebrew.
Ok, jokes aside the new update is not so good for the homebrew scene. In some cases, it will be a temporary setback.
The update broke NTR CFW, browserhax, steelhax, oot3dhax, basicploit and smilehax.
So yeah... enjoy that stability, homebrew scene.
I've updated it.
If they're adding more stables, then clearly the 3DS is far from being put out to pasture.
Thanks to Nintendo, I lost my primary Internet device.
I have a few horses sleeping inside my unit.
We should all know "increased stability" means that they found a potential backdoor for hackers and are patching things up.
Maybe they're hinting that the NX will be the most stable console to date!
@Handsomistic15 "Now, you're playing with stability!" should be the new 3DS catchphrase.
I waited my entire lifetime for this update
If only the update would fix the ability of my 3DS' B Button to work. Sadly, it must head in for repairs.
Maybe they'll just send me back a NX as an apology. Right?
I wonder what exploits did they block this time instead doing any useful real updates like adding all world maps to Streetpass Plaza and enabling the globe icon for all countries so you could view what streetpasses have you received and from which countries. Most of the world still after five years can't do that. Only select few countries can. It's quite a lot like the Miitomo case.
The NbaHomePass no longer works for me after update 11.1.0-34 U...
