Amazing

Speedrunning is an impressive feat in and of itself. Gamers spend countless hours of their lives memorizing games' structure and design to the point that they understand nearly every bump, crack, and crevice, all in order to beat the game as fast as humanly possible. Very few are capable of competing with the very best in this field, but some people just take it to the next level, such as a gamer who just broke the world record for a run of Super Mario World while blindfolded.

The run in question was performed on a Japanese livestream, where a fan completed a run of the game in 17 minutes and 46 seconds all without seeing anything. He doesn't utilize glitches to do it, and while there isn't much fancy platforming going on, the fact that it's all being done by audio cues and raw muscle memory is nothing short of amazing. Check it out:

What do you think? How long will it be before the record is beaten again? Have you managed to complete Super Mario World at all? Drop us a comment in the section below.
