As part of the Pokémon 20th Anniversary celebrations various Mythical 'mon are making their way into the current-gen games. Mew was the first of the monthly distributions, and now Celebi is joining in.
Originating on the Game Boy Color, this modern iteration has the same moves as it did in Silver & Gold, including the ability to confuse poor old Pikachu below:
Its other moves are Recover, Heal Bell and Safeguard, and as you'd expect of the giveaway it's level 100. In this case the distribution is via the Nintendo Network, so you don't need to haul yourself to a store to get one. It's the usual process for receiving and accessing online gifts in X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, but if you're not sure of all the steps the official website has a handy visual guide.
This Celebi is available from today (1st March) until 24th March, so don't forget to pick it up.

Nice. I missed that Pokemon Bank one, so this is perfect for me.
crap i forgot about these, just realised i missed Mew T_T
You can never have too many celebi's.
Wait it's not at Gamestop? Yes!!!
I missed mew, but ill certainly get this one.
Slightly more convenient than going to a Gamestop, in my case. Don't understand why GF can't just do every distribution through local WiFi though.
So technically we can get two Celebi if we have both games, correct? It would be completely worthless, just wondering though, haha
So what can this actually be used for, anyway? I mean I already have Celebi and I don't use ut for anything. Or any of ny legendaries for that matter.
@Detective_TeeJay Get it anyway, you can always trade it off for some other pokémon you want later on, when the event is over... :3
Besides, you can never have enough legendary pokémon.
They couldn't have made the Mew one digitally distributed, too?! My local GameStop ran out of codes!
Very Good, To received this cute Pokemon! ^.^
(But when arrive December, XD, XD; and I hope that I may receive she/it in Sun & Moon, but, if no, well, no problem, anyway, I have X, Y Ruby & Sapphire, XD)
Nice. I already got one from the Pokemon Bank but it wouldn't hurt to have another
Wish they did the same for Mew (missed). Well it's my fault for being forgetful and then lazy, especially when I work and live close to 2 separate Gamestops.
Glad this distribution is through the internet. I didn't check my local GS until two weeks after they started handing out Mew codes (busy, plus bad weather), and the employee said that they had received 400 codes, and were already out. Thankfully, a friend had an extra code, so I didn't miss out.
Four games means I have four Celebi's on top of the Pokémon Bank one.
Really stoked that my Celebi actually came with a modest nature and perfect hp sp atk and sp def IVs
I still need to input my Mew code. INteresting this time you just have to downloaad the Pokemon and not go to Gamestop.
Internet distribution >>> Having to deal with scummy Gamestop and bargaining for stupid codes. But hey, whatever pays Nintendo's bills huh?
Looking forward to messing around with a support Celebi on battle spot. That'll be fun.
Welp now I have 3 celebis. Now what
@FullbringIchigo Google the new glitch in Gen 1. I just did it last night, it still works on the eShop version.
I only need Manaphy. I have all the other Mythical Pokémon.
Already downloaded Celebi. Downloading over the internet is so much more convenient than journeying to GAME.
Ah, always nice not to have to travel an hour each way to go into a crowded GAME to stand in line to get a tiny slip of paper.
So much better than going to Gamestop and finding out that there are no more freaking codes.
I did NOT want to go to Gamestop just to grab the codes for Mew, so I decided I would pick up the codes when I went to pay off my Fates LE preorder. It was only 2 weeks after the distribution started and they were already out.
@Yorumi hey thanks for that, super helpful
@Yorumi just to note that because its a glitch in the game. It doesnt mean that you can move it to pokemon bank. Like the pokemon that hack in pokemon diamond or pearl to get arceus. Sure the arceus is legit but because the azure flute wasnt you couldn't put it into pokebank. Just saying. Pokemon may take it tho.
Nice, sucks I missed out on mew, but i kept forgetting to go to gamestop.
You'd be a fool not to get this otherwise you could be waiting years for another chance to get one. I got a celebi in my heartgold and soulsilver games and now in oras and x and y meaning I can have a full team of 6 Celebi hahaha
Let's celebite!
I have 7 legit Celebi from this generation . . . oh my . . .
While I'm happy to get any Legendary 'mon I can, it's disappointing that they're distributed at level 100. Let me train them.
@aj_fowl i heard about that, you think they would have fixed it for this one
@FullbringIchigo I missed Mew too, worst thing was I had actually been into a GAME store and purchased a game - forgot to ask
I got 2 so far, gotta find my copy of Y to get my 3rd.
I got a Celebi for X and one for OR last night. I already had the Pokémon Bank one too, so I'm delighted to have three of my own!
@wazlon the nearest GAME to me is 40 miles away so even if i had remembered i still wouldn't have been able to get it T_T
they should release it through Nintendo Network at some point like they are with the others
@SmaMan could of called Nintendo support codes for mew. codes for mew still valid for a while too, but idk if they'd give you one now.
if you do call nintendo select "eShop & promotions" they'll email you a code but its 1 per person.
ORRR get diamond/pearl and buy my pokemon ranch off of wiiware deposit in 999 crap pokemon then you can farm mews.
Probally will need a gen V game and maybe a 2nd DS or 2/3DS as well though
Why is it level 100? 80% of the fun of these games is raising pokemon to make them unique. A level 5 would be way more interesting to me.
