We already have FAST Racing NEO coming to Wii U and SteamWorld Heist to 3DS on 10th December, and now the eShop update will have another high profile arrival - Terraria.
The 2D platformer / resource / sandbox game has become a huge success since it took off as an Indie title on PC, picking up 505 Games as a publisher and arriving on a host of platforms. Wii U and 3DS versions have long been in the works, and now the portable entry is confirmed for 10th December.
This is certainly for North America and, we suspect, Europe too. It's looking like there'll be plenty of tempting options in the next download update, though it seems the Wii U version is going to take that little bit longer.
Are you planning to pick this up?

After all the sparse VC release weeks, it would be ironic if Metroid:Zero Mission finally releases on the 10th as well.
Terraria has often been described as the 2D equivalent of Minecraft, which makes Terraria's debut on Nintendo consoles all the more notable. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come - and better yet, Terraria's devs chose a fitting time of the year to release it, too!
If it has online multiplayer I'll consider it.
Edit: It has 4 player local co-op, no online play. I'll be sticking to my PC copy then.
I'm hoping this gives me a reason to play something other than Monster Hunter! Can't believe it's coming out so early! Omg! Hype! I hope that it's good because it's expensive compared to other versions.. And it has no online mode. They should make it cheaper cos we have to buy multiple copies for multiplayer :/
Hyped up anyway!
This game doesn't appeal to me, but it's good for it to finally release on the 3DS.
I'm getting it for Wii U, I want to play it on the big screen.
I got this cheap on PC recently but haven't tried it yet. Looks great for 3DS but I guess it's a loss not having online. I'll probably be waiting for a sale price.
I definitely want to get this as I own it for PS3 and PS4 but would love to have it on the go. I out way too much time I to this game...
The 3DS' RAM worries me though... How much can it handle? Is that going to be an issue and will the hardware hold back the software? Otherwise I think the stylus and touch screen can really make this interesting!
I'm very much getting this for me and my brother, since its his birthday when it comes out. Haha.
Wii U version seems to be the better option, with online and local multiplayer.
I already own this on 360 thanks to games with gold so I likely won't purchase it again even though it would be on my preferred system.
I'm getting this at launch, but I think they said they're going to include online later on. Maybe when the Wii u version launches.
I think I'll wait 'till Terraria releases on Wii U. A 3DS version doesn't really appeal to me. No online, and I don't have a New 3DS or Circle Pad pro so the controls would probably be pretty clunky.
Another good little game for December.
No price for this one? Kinda sucks considering FRN and SWH gave us pricing along with the release dates, but oh well. I just hope it's somewhere along the cheap price of the PC version, it wouldn't make any sense to have it any more than that (like seriously, all this time the Amazon listing has had it for $29.99, that can't be the actual price right?).
I have this on my phone. It's a nice game but the controls are not the best. I want to see the screen but I also need to cover it with my fingers all the time. Oh, how I hate smart phone controls.
3DS and Wii U versions could possibly be great though. Combining touch screen and button controls.
I'll wait for the WiiU version.
This and the visual novel coming the same day... start to wonder if I should drop off the region-free option of my DS. -_-
@Santa ah that's a shame, will probably give it a miss myself.
4 player coop ! say no more, it's enough for me to buy 3 of them for my children !!!! Excellent !
No retail version?
Better late than never with getting Terraria
WOOO!!! terrraria is my fav game ever. so glad for this
Retail please!
20 euros over the 7 euros PC version? Nah, I'll wait for a sale.
I was going to get it on 3DS until I found out no online Multiplayer.
£16.99p !
Eh?
