Project X Zone 2 joins a list of intriguing 3DS games that are due early next year (December this year in Japan); in fact, there may be one too many time sink games in that window for most of us mere mortals to tackle, but that's a nice problem to have. The Monolith Soft-developed IP mashup follows on from a chaotic if slightly flawed original, and it'll be fascinating to see what improvements it can make.
In any case, the line-up and cast is undoubtedly promising. This time around some Nintendo IP is featuring, with Fire Emblem: Awakening and Monolith Soft's own Xenoblade Chronicles being included, while various fan-favourites from Bandai Namco, SEGA and Capcom are also joining the crew.
We expect insanity, and the 14-minute showcase below reinforces that expectation. It's in Japanese, but check it out for footage of many cast members, including some of the most recent arrivals.

That video has affected me in ways I probably shouldn't describe.
I'm not particularly drawn to beat-em ups, but that does look particularly epic. I'll be keeping an eye on this from now on.
This is absolutely an upgrade of the previous installment. Thank goodness for the shops too.
But what is it that I spy near the end of the trailer? A fight between Ryu and Ken, one of the established paired units? There must be a little more to the game than we already know.
I can't wait to play this. I'm glad to see some other characters that haven't been announced, like Zagi from ToV and more Darkstalker characters. Also glad they mixed up the pair unit combinations so that their moves won't be the same as in the first game.
@gcunit it is not a beat em up but a rpg.
So horn woman in hot pants is on the side of evil again.
I have no idea what matey boy was saying but he got me pumped for this game😊
KOSMOS and Fiora side by side? Well, that sold me!
I didn't need more convincing but I do hope they fixed the problems from the first game (highly repetitive battles, non evolving combat system, and a story that was nonsensical and boring). The highlight of the game, the character interactions, was done excellently though.
Saw a ball in a "casino styled" map that looks like a hazard. Maybe the maps will be more dynamic and less boring. Great
Does this play like street fighter or marvel vs capcom? This looks like a dope 2d fighter.
How are the Fire Emblem characters in here?
