Lego Dimensions aims to combine Skylanders-style NFC toys with a full video game adventure, and Warner Bros. has just released a story trailer which hints at the kind of action you'll be enjoying when the game launches later this year.
The trailer features the game's primary antagonist, Lord Vortech, and shows him facing off against various heroic characters all brought together when their universes quite literally collide with one another. Superman, Gandalf, Scooby Doo, Marty McFly and not one but two Batmen all team up to take Vortech down.
Lego Dimensions launches on September 27th in North America and September 29th in Europe.

Still not interested in the slightest to be honest.
Seeing how expansice LEGO already is, i suspect that their "toys to life" range wont be any cheaper.
And frankly, i cant poop money for the "whole experience".
I thought Doctor Who was going to be included? Or maybe that's another Lego game?
I just hope the Ninjago characters have their actual voices unlike Shadow of Ronin for 3DS.
btw, anyone heard that people think LEGO Dimensions is a "lucifarian satanic masonic message"? Because they say it preludes some portal bs in September. lol
@Capt_N it's a level pack you buy to expand the experience like Disney Infinity. This trailer is mostly focused on the central characters in the story
No matter how many trailers they release, I can't bring myself to be interested in it. I love Skylanders, I like Disney Infinity, but this I'm not sure...
LEGO has a pretty strong "PULL" at our house with both toys and video games. With three boys who love the games and my own experience being they have some of the best games on the Wii U, This might be our first step into the toys-to-life dimension of gaming.
I shall now admit myself to the pun-itentiary
I haven't played Skylanders or Disney Infinity, but this... this, I'm looking forward to!
Getting this for my birthday. The packs aren't that expensive, I think they are $14.99 a pack or something like that.
I hope the gameplay is better than the usual crap. I liked Lego Jurassic World, sure. But it just felt like I was playing another Lego game I'd played before - just with a new glossy skin covering it. The combat should be ramped up a bit. The enemy AI, a lot better and I want every character to play completely different from one another. It shouldn't be that hard considering how most of them arn't even from the same universe.
Only then would it justify a purchase from me - and that's not even including a lot of stuff they need to add in order to maximize gameplay.
This looks so awesome, and it doesn't even include the Daleks or Portal. I don't see how they plan on selling Lego Avengers next to this, and Lego Jurassic World also just released. I might not get this for a year - Lego toys aren't on sale that much - but if it's half price Black Friday like the other 2 usually are I'll pick it up then. Amazon had the new Skyland erstwhile for $28 last, I can do $50 for this.
Still thinking about it. It has a lot of things I like (Doctor Who, Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings, etc.), but it'd most likely be very expensive, so...I'll think about it.
The Portal expansion looks like a lot of fun.
I'm glad I have so much money saved, might put my house deposit back a month, but I think I can live with that.
If the Simpsons are included in the game, Lego Dimensions is going straight in my basket!
"Hand to bat hand?" Well, at least the villain understood the phrase with the giant arms he pulled out in response.
