Capcom is a company that knows how to produce merchandise of varying standards, from awful tat to desirable but expensive collectables. We're not sure where this wearable Mega Man replica helmet comes in with those definitions, to be honest - the 'replica' reference in the product description is also amusing, as how can there be an authentic helmet for a video game character?
We posted about this very recently, yet now the Capcom store has actually opened pre-orders, stating that "extremely limited quantities will be produced based on advance pre-orders". This collectable is pricey though, coming in at $150 plus postage, with global shipping. Below is some blurb from the pre-order page.
There's been attempts at creating a wearable Mega Man helmet over the years, but its never been made officially. Everyone's been clamoring for one - and now you really can be Mega Man with this full-size, wearable Mega Man helmet made of high quality ABS plastic with a high polish finish, authentic proportions and details, plus working LED lights! A unique clamshell hinge allows the front and back half of the helmet to easily open up to comfortably fit your head inside the soft padded interior for a perfect fit. This is a high quality replica of the Blue Bomber's helmet - perfect for display in home or office, but it also doubles as the ultimate role play accessory!
Comes shipped in a decorated box suitable for displaying your helmet when not in use.
That's one pricey helmet. What say you Mega Man fans, worth $150?

Heads up, Capcom charges you the entire amount from the get-go, even though their Terms of Service says they won't charge you until it ships. :/ (It's not supposed to ship until Winter)
@Jeff1pnt3
That's a "pre-authorization" charge to make sure the card used is working . It's a temporary hold, usually a few days, and then the funds are re-released back to your account until the actual shipping date
@ShikabaneHime13 Oh, really? Thank goodness!
That is pretty cool. Got to fight the urge and think logically before I end up buying it.
Would be way cooler if it was the helmet from the Star Force series or at least the Battle Network Series. I can't blame them that the original get more love and recognition, well maybe I can but that's for another topic.
Unless that girl is a giantess there is no way that thing would fit on my head.
It all comes down to money. That's not even something I can afford but damn it looks pretty cool.
Way too expensive. You can buy a brand new 3DS with that amount.
@Jeff1pnt3
Yeah, a lot of places do the "pre-authorization" such as NIS America (preordered Rodea and Danganronpa AE) and even one import site I use (Nin-Nin)
That's one nice looking helmet but I haven't even played a Mega Man game before.
Definitely buying. Great to be a kid with no bills.
I'm curious if there's some adjustable strap for heads of different sizes, otherwise an inflexible "one size fits all" won't fit on a large adult and shake around on a child.
Crazy price and that helmet wouldn't fit a man judging from those photos. "Full-size" my @rse, it barely fits that girl.
This shall be my cosplay from now on! I managed to get the blaster so all i need is the boots and I am set!
I think everyone would rather have a new Mega Man game from Capcom instead of this..........
