We recently reported on the fact that Sega is releasing an arcade variant of its forthcoming Wii U and 3DS title Mario & Sonic at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
The Japanese firm has now published an image of the cabinet, as well as an official site. The game is scheduled for release next Spring in Japan, and one would assume the console versions will arrive around the same time.
The game recently went on test in selected locations in Japan. There's no word on a western release, but it's highly likely, given Sega's coin-op presense in the west.

Wow so you have to jog/run on the spot? xD
Ehh not interested.
Is it just me, or has NL started covering more arcade games than console games?
With 10 million Wii u and 50 million 3DS you'd think we'd see a little bit more of the home games by now, how many of these cabinets are they planning to make?
I'll never see one of these in person. I would try it.
I guess these will be all over the Olympic Village once the Rio games actually start. As a time waster, waiting in-between events or celebrating afterwards, I'm sure SEGA will see a small profit out of just the machines in Rio....
Sigh.
I never even liked the concept of an arcade olympics game. However if I see one, I guess I will try it.
I'm just glad Japan is at least still creating arcade machines that aren't just shooters/fighters. Go to any modern arcade in NA and that's all you find.
@OneBagTravel Yeah, I miss old-school arcades... They seem almost dead in America. We need games like this here to, in order to bring back interest in arcades. I think it looks cool.
