Not a week seems to pass without another Super Famicom RPG getting translated by devoted fans, and this particular week it's the turn of Copya Systems' Galaxy Robo, a turn-based strategy title that was published in Japan by Imagineer in 1994.
Playing like a cross between Fire Emblem and Square's Front Mission, Galaxy Robo has been lovingly translated into English by Dynamic-Designs. Interestingly, it features support for the little-used SNES mouse.
If this sounds like it's up your street, then grab the patch, find a copy of the game and bung the two into your RetroN5 console. If you're still to be convinced, check out the video below of the patch in action.
Thanks to Gonçalo Lopes / Shiryu for the tip!

The graphics aren't too great for a snes game... But nice to know this is out there...
I love it that you report on recent Fan translations
I played like 5 scenarios when I first discovered the game over a decade ago. Its nice to finally understand the plot. Another title added to play for my usual retro-summer vacations.
@linforcer
Graphics generally aren't the focus on a strategy game. The music seems pretty cool though.
I'm personally not a fan of the gundam theme though, so prolly will be giving this a miss. At least for now.
So for every journalist, if a game is a tactics game, it automatically draws comparison to Fire Emblem.. Well it's a mainstreamers' franchise so I should be expecting more of that.
Or just play Advanced Wars =P
@AVahne No, those were my exact words, not just Damien's. If you watch the video, you will understand. Pu ting the battle sequences side by side with the very first "Fire Emblem" on Super Nintendo, it is very clear where the inspiration for this one came from, right down to the menu colour scheme.
Haha, yeah right. I'm going to emulate it Nintendo Life, you know that.
Downloading this for my DStwo
@AVahne It's not like Fire Emblem invented this type of strategy games or anything.
@Melkac You do know that Fire Emblem started on the NES/Famicom right? It's one of the earliest, popular TRPG/SRPGs. The Wikipedia article on tactical RPGs states "However, the genre did not become prolific until Nintendo released and published the game that set the template for tactical wargame RPGs, Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi, created and developed by Intelligent Systems for the NES."
@Filler you do realize that post is two years old right
