Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has been out for a little over a month now and has been an undisputed success. One of the key new features that was added in this latest entry to the series is the ability to mount monsters. A well timed leaping strike from above can knock the beast over and enable the hunter to climb atop its back, hanging on for dear life as it bucks and fights to loosen the hunter. Capcom evidently wanted to give fans a taste of what that feels like, as there’s soon to be a roller coaster themed after the flagship monster, the Gore Magala.
Located in California at Six Flags Magic Mountain, the popular Goliath ride will be reskinned to resemble the Gore Magala from 28th March to 10th August. Featuring a 255 foot drop and reaching speeds of up to 85 mph, this will indeed feel like riding upon the back of an enraged dragon. In addition to this, Capcom has also arranged for there to be demo units for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate at a nearby Cyber Cafe. Here’s a video of what the roller coaster is like:
What do you think? Will you be challenging the Gore Magala this spring or summer? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Meh, when can we ride an actual Gore Magala? (don't answer that, lol)
I remember reading about this a few days ago, I'd definitely would love to go on this if it were in Canada.
And the ride is Monster Hunter-themed... How?
Will they just dress up the car as the dragon?
Capcom sure knows what to do with this series. Too bad all the rest are being left behind.
@MorphMarron I don't think it's been done yet. All they showed was the ride as is and it will be reskinned in a couple of days.
Ok so its been done per the post below but that was an older video.
I went to six flags on Sunday and Tuesday and I saw the caravan, gore Magala statue, mh4u posters, and the Rollercoaster itself was reskined as gore magala scales..it was pretty freaking sweet
AWESOME!
I don't like roller coasters. And that's a shame, since I live only 2 hours away from on of the best parks, Cedar Point.
@Aceboss100 That's actually pretty cool! I thought it would only be the statue and the Caravan temporarily, but that is cool they re skinned the ride for it!
I live about 15 minutes away. I don't even like Six Flags but I'm going to go for this.
I would love to take this ride if I was not to much of a chicken drumstick to get on it >_<. Motion sickness is a cupcake!
If I lived closer to California, I'd go. Maybe I'll be moved into my dorm before it goes back to being Goliath. And to y'all that're too scurred, roller coasters will forever be a mundane experience after you go skydiving; seriously, it changed me.
Dude this is awesome! As a kid I used to go to Six Flags and ride the Texas Giant, Judge Roy Scream, the Flashback, and many others. In Six Flags Atlanta I remember the Ninja, which had a huge drop then spiraled straight into a corkscrew. I've developed a fear of heights as the years have passed, but I'd make myself ride this one...
@MorphMarron According to what I've seen, one of the cars will look like the Gore Magala. There is also a statue of (the front half of) Gore Magala in the park as well.
Went to six flags for the first tie ever last month(am 17), and went on goliath the first rollercoaster ive ever been on.....and holy shiet.....That was intense!! Am going again in May for "Grad Night" and will be able to experience the monster hunter version!!
It's not exactly what I was expecting (it'd be better if it were an original ride, for example, not a reskin), but any such attention to this great series in the US can only be a good thing
