Mansion Arcade

Nintendo may have question marks around current third-party support on its systems, but few can doubt that it has some strong relationships with other companies in Japan - Koei Tecmo, Bandai Namco, Sega and Capcom are all examples. The latter two both appear to have some involvement in the arcade for Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon / Luigi's Mansion 2, if an official announcement is anything to go by.

We've known of the existence of this arcade for a while, as reports emerged of it being play tested last year. Players use a Poltergust-shaped controller and play in first-person to suck up ghosts - Luigi and Professor E Gadd appear, as will locations from the games. This has been developed by Capcom, yet now Sega has announced the arcade will be shown off in its booth at the Japan Amusement Expo. Quite where Sega comes into the project's development is unclear, yet in recent times Nintendo's proven itself adept at working with multiple partners on interesting projects and spin-offs.

Due to the arcade scene's weaknesses in the West we doubt this'll make it outside of Japan, but there's always hope. We also like to think that the work on improved visuals for this arcade could lay the groundwork for a Wii U entry in the series, but that's merely wishful thinking at this time.

Let us know whether you'd like to play a Luigi's Mansion arcade, or whether you fancy a third game to make its way to the Wii U.

Thanks to Jahir for the tip.
