Fire Emblem New

Following Nintendo's Q3 financial report, it's followed with convention and released supplementary information that includes upcoming release windows for 3DS and Wii U titles. There are only a couple of notable changes from the equivalent Q2 list, both affecting major titles.

To start with the 'New Fire Emblem Game' - yet to be formally named but announced in the first Nintendo Direct broadcasts of this year - has been listed as a Summer 2015 release in Japan. Nintendo's still playing safe in terms of the time needed to localise and release the Intelligent Systems game in the West, however, as it's listed as 'TBD' for Europe and North America; a previous newsletter issued in Australia - which was then corrected - suggested a 2015 release was possible outside of Japan. We'll see, but it's clear that development of the title is relatively far along for it to have a Summer window in Nintendo's homeland.

The only other major change is to Mario Maker. This level creation tool was previously given a "1st Half 2015" window for both North America and Europe, but this time around it's simply down for "2015". That's not to say it definitely won't still come in the next 4-5 months - Mario Party 10 had a 2015 window before it was subsequently confirmed for a March arrival during Nintendo Direct - but it's nevertheless a possibility that this title will be pushed back to later in the year.

We'll see in good time, and we're certainly hopeful that we'll be enjoying a new Fire Emblem title this year.
