Following Nintendo's Q3 financial report, it's followed with convention and released supplementary information that includes upcoming release windows for 3DS and Wii U titles. There are only a couple of notable changes from the equivalent Q2 list, both affecting major titles.
To start with the 'New Fire Emblem Game' - yet to be formally named but announced in the first Nintendo Direct broadcasts of this year - has been listed as a Summer 2015 release in Japan. Nintendo's still playing safe in terms of the time needed to localise and release the Intelligent Systems game in the West, however, as it's listed as 'TBD' for Europe and North America; a previous newsletter issued in Australia - which was then corrected - suggested a 2015 release was possible outside of Japan. We'll see, but it's clear that development of the title is relatively far along for it to have a Summer window in Nintendo's homeland.
The only other major change is to Mario Maker. This level creation tool was previously given a "1st Half 2015" window for both North America and Europe, but this time around it's simply down for "2015". That's not to say it definitely won't still come in the next 4-5 months - Mario Party 10 had a 2015 window before it was subsequently confirmed for a March arrival during Nintendo Direct - but it's nevertheless a possibility that this title will be pushed back to later in the year.
We'll see in good time, and we're certainly hopeful that we'll be enjoying a new Fire Emblem title this year.

Wonder why Mario Maker is delayed? Could be adding more content which is always a good thing. As for Fire Emblem, i really hope it's out this year. Finished Awakening last night and loved it. Didn't realise it was so close to completion! Excellent news though!
Its been a while since we had an advance war game or a golden sun game.....don't you think? I love fire emblem and I'm excited for this game but.....still....when is advance wars coming out?
It wouldn't be Nintendo if they didn't delay something, it wouldn't be a new year, old habits without it.
I wonder, given Nintendo's wacky way of naming things lately (new 3ds, Super Smash Bros for Wii U/3ds, etc) if the title for the new Fire Emblem will actually be 'The Latest In The Fire Emblem Series' as in the trailer lol
Mario Maker got delayed?? NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Hopefully it's for the better.
Mario Maker delay is a good thing. I hope the expand it even more, the initial show in E3 was quite weak, but Mario Maker like Splatoon has been getting better and better in every Nintendo Direct that Nintendo has shown new material of it.
Maybe more art styles like the original doki dori panic, Mario advance, Mario land, or all stars
I'm joining in the voices that ask for Fire Emblem multiplayer. If designed properly, that mode would give the game hours upon hours upon even more hours of additional fun.
I'm also really happy about the relatively close release window - it's great news even if it's just for Japan at the moment.
I hope the delay in Mario Maker is to add a lot more content. It does explain it's absence from the recent Nintendo Direct.
I did kinda hope it was to release relatively soon as it means there's nothing coming out from Nintendo that I actually care about until Splatoon.
@FragRed Indeed. I'm hopeful that at E3, they will announce that Mario Maker will be available directly after their presentation...
I think Mario Maker will come out September to coincide with Mario's 30th Anniversary
If their words are 2015 "possible" outside of Japan it's looking like the game will come out in Japan in the summer and many months later for the holidays elsewhere if we're lucky, which means you're going to have to stay away from Nintendo and Fire Emblem sites for months to avoid spoilers.
That is a MASSIVE delay.... So much releasing it to celebrate Mario's 30th anniversary.
What also worries me is if they can't get a level editor game like Mario Maker out on time and give it that much of a delay.... what is that going to tell us about Zelda U and Star Fox to which these games.... we've seen hardly ANYTHING. Zelda we got a view of them showing a small portion of them roaming a map and Star Fox.... did we even see any of that?
Let's see, Mario Maker - the game my kids have been looking forward to more than any other - is delayed outside of first 1/2 2015. A game that in it's entirety is nothing more than a level editor. Can't imagine why
@Takerkaneanite6 That would be great, indeed.
And, you know, you might get another surprise title, too.
Mario Maker seems more like a holiday title so I think late September or October on it so it is still fresh in the minds of everyone when sales start. It is a game that will sell to all ages and tastes
Still don't see why people are complaining. As I have said before, Mario Maker is not a priority and it should not be. Zelda U and X, on the other hand...
Wondering if they had to rush this a bit after the lack of SMTxFE news. Not really bothered about multiplayer—I wouldn't use it—but anything to keep up the momentum Awakening built can only help.
@rjejr
Something something Greatness, something something Awaits
Hopefully they're working on implementing even more styles to Mario Maker, or adapting the controls of each respective game properly (Super Mario World played vastly different from any other Mario game, after all).
FE v SMT is at least still on the list....even if it is TBD at least it is still there. Also Devils Third is listed for a release in Europe and NA for 2015 but TBD in Japan. I wonder if they are planning on releasing it about the same time COD comes out as the Nintendo alternative?
Bring it on! I'm ready for more Fire Emblem. However, until it gets an official name, it shall be known as Fire Emblem: Sleeping.
@bouncer0304 How about that final battle?
I hope Mario maker doesn't take too long. If it's indeed delayed, this will mean that my three most anticipated Wii U games of the year (MM, Xenoblade and Zelda) will only come out on the second semester.
Either way, I hope the delay means they'll add in extra features, such as a Mario Paint-esque music composer that was hinted at a while ago. Especially since I was recently watching some mind-blowing things being done with the Mario Paint composer on youtube. Such as: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6l-nbyDYsE0
As for Fire Emblem, that's so soon! I'm loving this new approach of announcing games much closer to release date than usual.
Yup. Fire Emblem is most likely coming out between March and June of next year on the Americas.
Nintendo delays are good. You know there's a good reason for it.
@Ichiban Or 'New Fire Emblem' lol
I wonder why Mario Maker is delayed
@NintyMan I think it's still listed for a 1H 2015 release.
Hmm, if it's coming this soon then I guess I'll skip re-buying Awakening and wait for this instead.
MM is neat and I'd love to play it but not a real priority so ehh.
I wonder if the new fire emblem will have amiibo compatibility. I could definitely see Lucina, Robin, Ike, and Marth amiibos being a key in this new game.
...it's already been formally named as "Fire Emblem If" in Japan. Just doesn't have a Western name yet.
...still, kinda weird to see Fire Emblem become so mainstream. I guess casual mode and their generic fantasy anime approach to the story, art, and characters made it much easier to swallow for the masses.
@Artwark I hear ya. I desperately want a new Advance Wars. The team that makes them has been tied up with Code Name STEAM though, which almost looks like a Battalion Wars type game. I;m excited for Code Name STEAM and Fire Emblem but I agree, I want a new Advance Wars!
I was about to describe the Mario Maker delay as "a backstab I was expecting considering the game wasn't even mentioned in the latest direct", but then again, the first comment here stated a very good point. I'm still hopeful for this one, as long as it's not canceled. Because, you know, we've seen a lot of level editors in the Mario Vs Donkey Kong series so far, and yet we're still waiting for a proper, well, Mario maker game. Hopefully Nintendo won't backpedal on this one.
IF new Fire Emblem for 3ds got any online multiplayer i will buy it.
Might not be a delay, but rather a shuffling of release dates to the most advantageous timed launches.
Really happy to see Fire Emblem is so far along in development. A+ all the way
I wanna see how the Fire Emblem new 3DS XL will look too see if I should wait or just pre-order the Monster Hunter new 3DS XL.
I hope Nintendo announces the Fire Emblem bundle soon with a release date
What about Yoshi's Woolly World? That wasn't mentioned in the last Nintendo Direct either. I'm really hoping for a spring release because we europeans have to wait stupidly long for Touch! Kirby Wii U.
Mario Maker delayed to help adapt it for 3DS...
oh goodness PLEEEEASE let that be the case. D: Doubt it, but a guy can dream!
I think Mariomaker should just be a cheap download or a retail budget-title at best. It shouldn't cost more then 15 Euro, but I know that doesn't happen.
