For the first time in a long while, Japan will actually be receiving fewer Wii Virtual Console games than another region. Europe, to be precise, all because of the truckload of Virtual Console games scheduled for March. Japan will still receive four games though, so let's take a look at what they are.
Japan's full list for March is as follows:
Famicom:
- Double Dragon II: The Revenge — The second game in Technos' beat 'em up series, this has already been rated by some western rating boards, so we're confident we'll see it elsewhere soon as well.
Neo Geo:
- Bakuretsu Roman: Gekka no Kenshi — Similarly to Samurai Shodown, this is a 2D fighter in which the combatants use weapons. Released in the west as The Last Blade, this and its sequel have been two of the most wanted Neo Geo fighters, so we're glad to see the first is finally coming.
- Soccer Brawl — A football/soccer game in which you can attack other players. It's not really that fondly remembered, though.
Virtual Console Arcade:
- Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun — The first game in the Kunio-kun series. The westernised version of the NES port was Renegade, already released on the Wii Virtual Console in North America, but will we see the arcade original anywhere else?

Oh no!
Sad thing i expect NA to do worst than this. Someone please tell me this wont come true.
Double Dragon 2!!!!
Last Blade is the game I really want on the VC. I hope it gets released in the US along with DD2.
Wait what? What's this "oh no"? The set of games that Europe is getting are mostly games that have already come out in Japan that EU has been waiting for, with the exception of the game gear games. These four are NEW to the service.
The Last Blade is awesome, would love for it to come out here in the US, just so I don't have to load up the ROM.
We are one step closer to my dream! I've been waiting for this game for so long! That, and Last Blade 2! Come on, SNK! Bring this game to the U.S. of A!
lame
@Failsanta
You take that back! D=
@GundamMac Is there usually a long wait period for Neo Geo games between Japanese release and NA or EU? King of Fighters '97 and Magical Drop III were a 5 months wait for a non-Japanese release.
But even though the Neo Geo is constantly putting games on VC in Japan, there hasn't been a Neo Geo release for VC in NA since December 2010.
never heard of soccer brawl. anyone know if this is a fun game?
the others however sound like great titles. looking forward to last blade.
I've never seen the Renegade arcade game only the NES version. I'd like to try it.
omg Last Blade!!! I want >.<
@misswiiu81
Soccer Brawl, so to speak, it is like a primitive Super Mario Strikers. It is an interesting take on soccer, with exaggerated kicks and you can shoot your opponent to paralyze him and steal the ball. It is fun, but it quickly gets intense.
It would be nice to have the Last Blade games in NA. Although I am still waiting for Real Bout and Garou to make it.
Woah woah woah.
Back the truck up.
Last Blade?
WANT.
Still holding out for the NA release of Street Fighter II that has online multiplayer. Damn it.
@sinalefa oh thanks for that reply. interesting.
They're finally getting Last Blade.. oh.. my.. GOD!
Double Dragon II and Last Blade! YES!
... Why are people whining about getting those?
