Mega Man 9 and 10 have recently been released on PS4 so its not worth it to download them on Wii unless you're seriously never going to get a PS4. Likewise, the Phoenix Wright trilogy has been released on 3DS so those aren't worth downloading now either - just get them on 3DS.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
Konami's Rebirth games (They could do a compilation at anytime, but for now they're Wiiware exclusive)
The Final Fantasy games bar FFIV After Years (Much cheaper to buy on PSP) and Crystal Defenders (Cheaper and more complete on PS360)
Let's Catch (Title that goes with Let's Tap. And if you want a game where you play catch... XD)
Art Style series (Really good set of puzzle games by Nintendo)
Excitebike World Challenge (Miss the online, but its still fun.)
FAST Racing League (Dunno how different to its sequels it is but meh.)
Lostwinds 1+2
Pokemon Rumble
The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Trilogy (Only if you have a Japanese Wii. XD)
My Pokemon Ranch (Extra box storage for your Diamonds and Pearl games, plus free Mew!)
Warioware DIY Showcase
Fluidity (aka: HydroVenture) - structure is very different than what you get in the 3DS sequel; I greatly preferred the original
And Yet It Moves - this is available elsewhere, but (if I understand correctly) the WiiWare version is definitive because only it allows rotation to any degree, instead of locking at 90-degrees
Driift Mania - Won't appeal to everyone and you need several players locally to make it worthwhile, but amazing if you want to revisit the Ivan Ironman Stewart's Super Off Road experience
You, Me, and the Cubes - Pretty cool little game, although didn't seem to get much attention
Bonsai Barber - is weird and original and only on Wii... but it's not something that everyone will be interested in; I wouldn't recommend it per se, but you might want to look at reviews to see what it is
I don't know if WarioWare DIY Showcase is a game I'd recommend on it's own - but if you have the DS game it's almost essential.
I'm still sick my region never got Skip's Snowpack Park. I love Chibi-Robo and the Art Style games so I was extremely disappointed that not only I couldn't get the game, but also because none of the Japanese and American gamers appreciated it as much as I do.
Really, Nintendo, it was useless to release this little gem in JP and NA. You should have brought it to Europe where at least I was anticipating it more than anyone ever did.
Anyway, I think the reason it wasn't released here was too much screentext to translate in Europe that couldn't fit into the 40MB file size, so only Japan and USA got the game.
Now with the end of the Wii Shop, I guess it's time to get this game by unofficial means, finally.
I should pick up the weird Japanese prisoner game Discipline along with it.
I recommend Rock N' Roll Climber (8€), an WiiWare exclusive by Vitei that has full motion control for both the arms and legs (via Balance Board). It's better with a Balance Board, but it's optional. For me it was the best Wii sports / stamina / concentration game because I took a sweat every single time. Beating the game made me lose 5kg of weight for sure. Holding your hands up in the air and waving them around to grab onto ledges is extremely good training. ^^
Another exclusive I recommend is Robox (10€), an openworld 2D metroidvania. Underrated and challenging. The music is a bit lacking, but it's pretty nice in every other regard. It has a huge world with tons of secrets. The content is great for the low price with about 30 hours of gameplay. The only issues some could have with it are its Mega Man difficulty and its Metroid 1&2 like "you're lost and there's no map" feature. Not enough to be less than a 7/10 imo. I gave it a 9/10 when I reviewed it back then. NL's 5/10 was too harsh.
Great start to a WiiWare 'exclusive' list, guys. There are some listed here that I didn't know about. I did some research and there doesn't seem to be a full list anywhere.
Here are some exclusives that I haven't bought yet:
Adventure Island: The Beginning (Gotta have it)
Blaster Master: Overdrive
Bomberman Blast (Up to 8 players, cool!)
Jett Rocket (A 3D platformer developed by Shin'en Multimedia, the same guys who made Fast Racing Neo/RMX and Nano Assault. There is a sequel on 3DS.)
Mr. Driller W (Not sure, looks like a cross between Dig Dug and Tetris)
Star Soldier R (It's a SHMUP! I love shoot'em ups)
Rainbow Islands: Towering Adventure (Most people don't know that Rainbow Islands is part of the Bubble Bobble series)
Zombie Panic in Wonderland (A shooting game. Point the Wii Remote at the screen, it seems)
Hope that helps. Hopefully we can make a refined list in the near future. These games will be gone forever.
Bonsai Barber is a game I didn't even know existed until I saw that Nintendo published it, so I bought it immediately. A nice little game that didn't get the attention it deserved. I hope that poor sales doesn't discourage them from porting it or producing a sequel. The Wii Shop was handled so badly that I'd be surprised if anybody made any serious green from the platform.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
Thanks, I looked it up and apparently it is an iOS and Android game as well. Some of the Wiiware exclusive lists that I found are outdated and led me to that one.
Artstyle Cubello. Excellent puzzle game that I love even despite the fact that it commits the puzzle game cardinal sin of not accomodating colorblind players (meaning there's a level that I physically can't get past). But it's still great.
Lost Winds & Lost Winds 2 (Winter of the Melodias) are both on pc on the steam store.
I think they quietly got ported last year. Both are fantastic games, though there was this one bug in the first game that I encountered when I played it back in 08.
If you beat the 4th boss before the 3rd boss the game will essentially softlock because it loads up the final boss sequence but wont let you fight it because it thinks you have only done 3 out of 4 areas
The DSi ware game 'Mr. Driller: Drill Till You Drop' is a different title than 'Mr. Driller W'. Although they are in the same series, I think they are different.
