Guess I should wait until March 25th to pick up Bowser Jr.

Well.. it's a step in the right direction at any rate. Perhaps a little holdover until they make a full blown all characters in game that uses amiibo.

If it's free I'll download it and give it a try since I've got appropriate Amiibo. It seems kind of random they made this, why? Why Mario & DK but now with others and it's mostly centered around the Amiibo aspect?
They keep stepping around an actual amiibo game with things like this but okay this is fine for the moment.

I'm hoping they're just taking a really long time to develop and perfect a game that uses all Amiibos and will completely blow skylanders/infinity/dimensions out of the water.

So this Friday is when amiibo should start coming with this game, right? Going to hunt for Bowser Jr. The only compatible amiibo with this game I don't own.

I am having so much fun with this game. If they keep doing small games like this that require amiibo, I don't think there will be a need for a big game to do it

Apparently it doesn't require a purchase of an amiibo to get a download code. I found a pad of flyers with download codes hanging next to the amiibo shelf at the local Target tonight. I'll give it a try tonight.

I've been playing this a bit.. kind of a neat idea, but I was hoping for something a little more platform-y and less puzzle-y. But seeing as it was free, I can't complain. For what it is, it seems pretty good.

I was at Target today and grabbed a sheet with some download codes for this game.

First one to use them is the winner!!! Have fun!

So, anybody hoping the game will have a little bit more game in it when it releases for everyone next week?

The levels are fine, but the score keeping is lackadaisical at best. As far as I can tell there is only 1 record for each level, and I can't even tell which amiibo I used to get the record. I think a top 3 scores at least, and the times, and a picture or name of the amiibo. And we should be able to see these things when we click on a level, not after we beat it. And a page that shows all the amiibo we have used and how many levels els each amiibo has beaten.

@JaxonH you see anything at all like that in your time with it? The game is probably too limited for online leader boards but I'd like to see some score keeping. And a main menu. I really like being on a main menu when I hit the Home button.

So, mine cart levels on DK huh? Oh joy. I was already cursing up a storm and jamming my stylus thru the screen on one of those Mario levels, the 1 with the 2 rock crushers. Getting the timer near zero and then getting hit by those 3 rock heads at the end, ugh. If we get SF Guard I'm just watching my kids play.

@rjejr

Sounds like you're having a blast with it lol... I can tell when you like a game as soon as my name gets tagged in a rant

Ya know I think it's a low budget release being free and all. Those features would be nice for sure though. Idk, like I said I really enjoyed Tipping Stars so this game was right up my alley. I just hated scanning in amiibo every few levels, but at the same time it make you feel like the amiibo have value.

Go grab your Donkey Kong amiibo and take a detour into the DK Island loop. It's a blast...

@JaxonH: Yeah, if a game isn't worth cursing at it isn't worth playing. I do need to take it easy on the screen though. On the bright side I don't think there are any lives to worry about. I thought at first those amiibo cards were lives so after dieing 3 or 4 times I thought I'd get the usual Game Over screen, but I finally figured out those aren't lives, those are only used to open levels which will be too hard for me to do.

On the bright side we do have 5 amiibo to use - green yarn Yoshi, silver Mario, DK and Bowser from Skylanders and wife has Princess Peach - so I'll be playing it for a a few days.

And it was my kid who thought we'd get a fuller game w/ score keeping when the game gets released to all. Considering Miitomo has already had 2 updates, and Pokemon Match 3 had a ton of stuff added to it, and Nintendo Badge Arcade, I don't think being free means it won't be supported. Who knows, they may even add in more levels for more amiibo. Could happen.

But basically I'm just yelling at this to get practice for SFG. I think we'll all be screaming at that. All the time.

I really like the Yoshi levels. The way they implemented the egg throwing mechanic is pretty fun.

Too bad it's just four levels...

Is DK the first area or is it just because his was the first amiibo I tapped? Lol it's cute though kinda looks like a WiiU game put on the 3DS though. No 3D but everything is pretty HD in appearance. There also appears to be 8 levels for DK? Nifty thing so far though.

He is just the first world on the list, you can complete them in any order, as long as you have completed the standard levels lol.

Oh lol I see the camera like 2 seconds after I posted. Diddy and Donkey Kong's look the same almost.

I'm glad i have a bunch of amiibo compatible with this, I've not played one of these in ages that was enjoyable.
