Sorry, man, I was under the impression that this was a forum for discussing the Wii U eShop. I must have been mistaken!
it is a forum for discussing the Wii U eShop. you're the one who brought Kotaku into the mix, though. :3
that said, i haven't read/don't care about the article at hand, but these new-console droughts are natural. It happened with the DSi, it happened with the 3DS, it's happening now with the Wii U. we get a bit of a surge at first, then nothing, then it gradually gets steadier as a platform fleshes itself out, Wii U eShop included. Early adopters always wind up playing the waiting game. if that idea bothers you, hold off before purchasing a brand new console.

Holy premature article Batman! The Wii U isn't even 2 months old yet and we're already saying Nintendo is dropping the ball? The 3DS eShop needed some time to push out some good titles, so does the Wii U eShop.
GUYS I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH GAMES, I NEED MORE RIGHT NOW
seriously, outside of some hardcore gaming journalists, why do you need more games right now? Unless you have specific genres you want to play that it is lacking so far (like WaltzElf), why can you not just enjoy what's there now? Like at the very least it's a complaint justified in...a way. That way being Nintendo's inability to be genuinely successful in anything related to the word "online" and the laughable Wii shop makes it worrisome when their unexpected success isn't immediately consistent every single week like some of the services it is being compared to (mainly Steam). But that doesn't contradict that this wasn't thought through at all since this is what always happens with similar services. It doesn't even delve into the only other logical reason this could happen beyond the fact that this always happens early on. That being that Nintendo not sharing the full details of the eShop before it was available to even the developers making games for it might have made some people reconsider or take a while longer to get their games on the eshop. But none of those games that fit that example would be released on the eShop yet regardless.

To be fair, that's actually a likely situation...though, I will say that the retail scene is pretty diverse, especially with what's on the way. There's not exactly a large abundance of any one genre, though. If you only like one or two genres (which most people do), then you won't have a lot to play.
Of course, there are better things to do in this situation than complain...replay games you still own, do something besides gaming, if you got the money maybe get a less current console where the good games are cheap and plentiful...unless you already have one, in which case you should concentrate on the games coming to that...or, call me crazy, but you could even try breaking into different genres. It's really not that hard, just takes some effort and an open mind.
That's all just conjecture, though. Just speaking my mind.
All I know is that I've read time and time again that Nintendo is selling the Wii U at a loss and it becomes profitable when games are bought. Having heard that, it is surprising to see a stagnant e-shop. One would believe that Nintendo would be interested in getting the games that people want out, but instead Pikmin 3 and other highly anticipated games have been intentionally delayed. Meanwhile, 3rd party games like Zen Pinball and Toki Tori 2 are delayed without much reason being given and EA simply seems to be unwilling to play with Nintendo (citing recent report that Crysis 3 will not be released on the Wii U as it "lacked business drive")
While some may say the it is EA still smarting from previous dealing and it isn't Nintendo's fault, as a consumer I have to ask myself, "Should I have gone with a different console manufactured by a company that doesn't seem to have the 3rd party issues that this one does?"

Kotaku is not a forum. It is a news blog. Sure there are comments, but you can't have a discussion there.
What? Yes you can. That's what the comment sections are for, to discuss the article (and honestly, what else would they be for?).
Complain about the gasoline prices in Canada?
And kkslider needs a few more claps. Better than average show, better than average show old boy! /me claps

Chip Cheezum and General Ironicus deserve most of the credit. God I love that video, one of the best ones I've seen in the past year or so.

I was actually on my 3DS when I posted that so I didn't see the video, but now that I'm on my PC and have seen it.
kotaku is just annoying. They said the darness 2 sucked, and didnt like xenoblade much. Kotaku is to games journalism what the daily mail is to newspapers.

I don't like Kotaku either, though they did actually have some good editorials at one point, but I think there are better reasons to dislike them than because they didn't like certain games. :/
I remember when Kotaku was a fun site to go to, I miss those days.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
No, I am saying it's a pointless rant from some butthurt fanboy, and I do find it funny how it's just as bad as the comments below it
well, that's your own fault for actually reading it, then. :3

B-but I thought everything was Kotaku's fault?
Or IGN's.

Or Pachter's.
Or Capcom's.

...Nah, pretty sure it's still Capcom's.
