It's $20 dlc. Nintendo barely puts any thought into the plot of their Mario games, I highly doubt they're gonna put much more thought into a small luigi game.

The plots I made up were relatively simple plots... much more so than the Mario RPGs. (Not that that's a bad thing.)

This game will be awesome.

You're comparing the story of a platformer to the story of an RPG?

No! I was saying that the plots I made up were simple plots and fitting for a 2D Mario plaftorming game, and that the plots I came up with aren't deep like Mario RPGs so they were perfect for a Mario platformer. Super Mario Sunshine is an example of a Mario game with a deeper plot.

They made the game and YOU were thinking they'd make some changes to it just because you sent them an e-mail? It's their games' dude not yours.

Oh come on! I was just giving them a fan's perspective! I wasn't sending them that email thinking that they would listen to my ideas and make a New Super Luigi U sequel! I was just giving them my input on New Super Luigi U.

Really, everyone is critisizing ClassicSonic too much. Who really cares if they ignore it. Also it is good when people try to voice their concerns..

Hello Sammy,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us; it's always great to hear from loyal fans such as yourself! With that said, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed New Super Luigi U, but I'm sorry to say that I wasn't able to view the video you sent us about it. Furthermore, I'm sorry to hear of your concerns regarding certain aspects of this game. In regard to your questions, I'm afraid we don't have any information as to why Peach appeared in this game instead of Daisy or where Mario was. I know this isn't necessarily the answer you were hoping for, but we truly appreciate your understanding in this matter.

With all that said, I can definitely understand your interest in seeing a sequel to New Super Luigi U that features King Boo instead of Bowser. We appreciate knowing about what our fans would like to see, so you can be sure that I've forwarded what you said to the appropriate departments here at the company for further review. I'm unable to tell what will be done in the future, but we do take all feedback into consideration. Of course, if we do announce a sequel to this game, we'll be sure to share the news in the "What's New" section (http://www.nintendo.com/whatsnew) of our official website, so be sure to check back from time to time.

Thank you again for your email; despite your concerns in this game, I truly hope you continue to enjoy everything that the Wii U console has to offer!

Sincerely,

Chloe Olson

I bolded the parts that are most likely a copy/paste. I swear I saw some of this in an e-mail to Ninty a friend of mine sent that I read the response to.

Well what did you expect them to say?
"Your idea is perfect! If Reggie Fils-Aime and Satoru Iwata weren't in charge, I'd definitely make a New Super Luigi U sequel using your ideas!"
Or:
"Your idea sucks! Get out of the Mario fan-base!"
I mean, Nintendo officials kind of has to use similar responses in email replies or they may get fired for expressing their completely honest opinions. As sick as it sounds, that's how life is.

@ClassicSonicFan
I'm not questioning what they do and I'd almost certainly do the same in their position. I'm just trying to show that they don't really care about ideas like these, and just proving how little effort they put into stuff like this. Don't get me wrong, while you may have had good intentions, it just ends up as a waste of effort.

Hmmm,
This is still a greater (Prescripted or otherwise) message than I was expecting from someone who essentially works at the equivalent of a call center. I've always heard Nintendo has decent customer support, and though the email may of well have been immediately deleted afterwards, it does still show that someone at least took a half-hearted attempt at reading through it.

So my dear ClassicSonicFan,
Let me give you a little advice. Write down your thoughts somewhere, note them down and maintain a written history of your design thoughts. Because though you may currently be in a position where you're unable to exact a massive change on the world, someday you may have that opportunity. In other words, never cease dreaming. I still have plenty of notes lying around from previous ponderings. Including for that matter an idea for the Animal Crossing series:

Golden Leaf Items:
Items that could essentially be placed as decorations in both inside the home, and the village outside. At the time I was thinking along the lines of glowing street lamps and floating Mario blocks. Coincidentally this was before "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" was even publicly announced, and it took me quite by surprise to hear they implemented a new design decision so similar to my own

Besides you have to remember Super Luigi U was just DLC not a full game what you are asking for is a full game not DLC.

I've seen more effort put into $10 DLCs than what was put into NSLU.

REALLY NOW. Holy smokes some people are just NEVER satisfied are they? I mean Nintendo only took ALL 82 LEVELS, redesigned them, gave Luigi his own physics, made a new playable character, went the extra mile to hide little Luigi easter eggs, and ramped up the difficulty TREMENDOUSLY to the point where I actually got game over in the first world? You're calling THAT minimal effort? Are you serious?! I mean what more do you want? A chocolate mousse cake on a silver platter? Would you like a free ticket to Disney World? Do you want Miyamoto to come to your house and massage your feet while we're at it? Seriously, come on now. Stop having such unreasonably high expectations. What did you expect? It's DLC. What we got was more than enough. /rant

Unfortunately that's the world we live in now. If a DLC pack doesn't feature entirely brand new characters, new play style, removes all features of the original game, just new EVERYTHING(a.k.a. a different game), it's a lazy effort that's only made to make money apparently... and that's just complete bs.

I remember a comment I saw on YouTube once about NSLU saying "This is just a copy and paste of NSMBU, it looks and plays exactly the same!"... no s**t it looks and plays the same, it's a DLC pack!

I'm pleased that you got such an apt and timely reply; seemingly that was just the response you expected if not quite hoped for.
Your ideas were all relevant and creative*, never doubt that.

*In my view Nintendo has nobody at the helm when it comes to innovating the classic Mario storyline.

You are joking with this post right? Do you really think the email will be printed off by an intern and they'll frantically run through the halls of Nintendo's corporate office? The whole time dodging office chairs and shoulder rolling around coffee carrying coworkers. Skiping the elevator because their legs are motivated and will outrun one anyday, the dedicated intern runs up ten flights of stairs. He bursts into the top floor and right into Iawata's office. Iawata turns in his massive leather office chair to see what is disturbing the tranquility. Our hero intern is leaning on the door with one hand while hunched over and breathing heavily. He stretches out his other hand to Iawata which is clenching your crumpled note. He says, "Iawata San! This letter is from a dedicated fan who has a few small ideas tweak a game of ours!" Iawata perks up and swiftly walks to the intern. He eagerly tares the letter from the intern. He walks towards his fireplace as he reads the note. A smile grips his face and he stands straight up. "Call a meeting!" The shouts to the intern. "We have magic to create!"

Wasn't that fun? Now here's reality. Intern opens email. Intern skims 2/3rds of the letter and rolls their eyes. Intern sends a "Thank you for your concern" email that is a standard response email that really says nothing. Intern then deletes your email and no one ever sees it. Reality sucks.

This was a great read, very imaginative. I can see this as an idea for a game. You play a Nintendo intern.

Too awesome. Hate to see the original poster's dreams crushed in such fashion, but that post was just fantastic. So many people think that's how it would be if they could only send their ideas to the company.
