In anticipation for this I played some F-Zero X last night... Either I'm a lot worse than I thought I was or it's because I haven't played it for a long time haha.

Where's the Miiverse community for this game? I can't find it on Miiverse... Can you post stuff to Miiverse in this game?

God first.

I placed second on my first try, mostly because I took a while to get used to the controls and learn the maps. On my second try I got the maximum score of 48 and I placed first. The Novice Cup seems to be on the ''easy'' side, it's still pretty tough, but nowhere near as difficult as I expected after reading a couple of reviews.

The reviews I've read have been about the steep challenge after novice.

It's fun to play a new game literally after the launch. I've played it for about 2 hours now and had more challenge getting first in single player cups than online. I played about 12 matches online and my last winning round ended when the game froze. There were two rounds where I placed 2nd or 3rd, every other match I was 1st. This will surely change when (or if) true F-Zero veterans and such discover this gem. It's going to be really tough to win then (for example, I have only completed the Grand Prix mode on all difficulties in F-Zero GX, not Story Mode on Very Hard or Time Trials).

It would be great if David Wise made soundtracks to all future Nintendo games.

Dying to get home, download and PLAY!!!! I'm a Star Wars E1 Racer vet and this looks like it could similar in terms of landscapes, driving mechanics and SPEED.

I've been having so much fun with this game, easily my GotY. Hopefully the online lasts for a long time.

I'm debating whether to get this or Terraria on Steam. Terraria seems to be more cost effective option and has a ton more content but.....F-Zerooooo. I'm truly torn. What do you guys think?

I'd grab this and wait for Terraria to go on sale.

Just got it now. I wish the Canadian dollar was better though since the price was $20 for me.

MrRaven1972

I played the first cup twice and came in fourth the first try and second the second try.

I really am enjoying the game. The graphics are so nice and I am extremely impressed with how smooth the game flows. I like the added component of switching phase colours to match the boost pads. It adds a nice extra element to the racing.

On the control side, I have used the gamepad and the gamepad pro. I far prefer the game using the pro controller. Since all four shoulder buttons get used regularly throughout the race, the larger size of the gamepad was not as comfortable using all four buttons. The pro felt perfect for me. I plan to try the classic controller as well, since I have a couple of those which should be good for local multiplayer.

On the whole, I am really happy with this purchase and easily worth my $20 canadian.

@Grumblevolcano:
I hope so too but this is a 3rd party game on Wii U so I´m trying to get the most out of it this month in case players abandon this title too soon.

It would be great if David Wise made soundtracks to all future Nintendo games.

@jariw: We'll see then! At least the game doesn't lack any difficulty in general.

@bluedogrulez: This game feels a lot faster than SWE1: Racer. It's also less ''floaty'' from what I remember, but I'm pretty sure you'll like this game regardless!

Terraria is probably going to be $3 soon since the Steam Winter sale is coming in a week or two. I'd buy this instead right now.

OMG. Well that is good news. Loving these comments and recommendations from you lucky ones playing it already.

Question: Does the online component allow for Friend invites or match setting? Maybe wishful thinking, but it would be cool to race with fellow NLers

I'm at 198 points in online now and my latest 1st place ended up in freezing the game again.

It would be great if David Wise made soundtracks to all future Nintendo games.

Anyone else missing the weight bar in the vehicle select screen?

anyway, great game and really well made! Incredible how much they could make the Wii U shine with this! Playing subsonic and it already feels gorgeous!

@Luffymcduck: Is the freezing thing serious? Like, for example, does the game freeze after playing a cup or something, or is it just limited to online?

Holy CRAP this game has terrible rubberbanding AI. Any minute mistake you make ends up with them passing you. I'm sorry, that's just not fair. I'm playing on the easiest difficulty on the first cup. This should not be this hard. Also rubber banding AI is an outdated concept. Why do games still have it?

That is a serious turn off for me. After beating the F-Zero GX story mode I practically get PTSD to that stupid race with Black Shadow when I notice a game has rubber banding AI. Going to wait for a demo now.
