Topic: Does The EU Eshop Have Regular Sales?

Hi folks

Excuse me if this has an obvious answer but as a new Wii U owner (only had it for a week) I was wondering if the EU store ever has weekly sales or discounts like other gaming networks?

Yep, there is a thing on the front page that says offers you can click to show the current discounts.

Thanks! Does that change weekly or monthly?

It depends on the title, some sales are for just a week others are for a month.

It's less of a sale and more of an offer since it's buy one and get 60% off another, I'm pretty sure it doesn't come up in the discount section because of that. It may just be worth buying Edge or Rush since they are so cheap already to then get Guacamelee or one of the other more expensive games cheaper.

Sadly nothing for me in that sale, I've already got the games on other devices and at cheaper prices but I was hoping to see if more Nintendo published titles get discounts. I'd love to try some more GBA games but at over £6 a pop, I'm going to have to pick and choose carefully.

this happens once in a blue moon. The latest I remember were the VC Zelda sale in Sept. 2014 (when Hyrule Warrior was released), the VC Kirby sale in May 2015 (for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse) and the brief E3 sale with just a handful of GBA games discounted for three days. And they never got more than 2 quid off the asking price.
For £6 a pop, yeah, you have to be careful, though most of the GBA stuff is still boss, dyou know, games like Advance Wars or Zero Mission are still mega and well worth the price.

Thank you for the response. Oddly enough those were some of the games I had my eye on but even then, it's going to be one title a fortnight and little else. It would be nice to have a discount pack, either based on franchise, genre or system, when buying multiple titles.

One thing they do from time to time is to give away a specific VC title if you purchase a retail game digitally. When they released Mario Kart 8 they gave away Super Mario Kart SNES with each digital sale. Same with Yoshi Touch and Go, which was "bundled" with the digital version of Yoshi's Woolly World. Chances are they'll do something similar with Super Mario Maker, Star Fox Ø and the new Fire Emblem game. Not sure if things will change now that the president will change, but Nintendo notoriusly doesn't give much of their old stuff away.

Speaking of the GBA Fire Emblem games, errrr...do we like them?! I've tried to give at least the first episode a go, but the language always puts me off. Really, who wrote the script - Geoffrey Chaucer?!
