I'm ashamed at my current inability to have a 100% file, let alone doing it in ways that are too quick for casuals to handle!!! Maybe I'll finally do either this time?

I had a SNES back in the day but surprisingly missed out on quite a few classics. This is one of them... and I didn't get it on the Wii VC either. The other is LttP. So very hyped about being able to get it, would have happily paid the $10.40 esp now it's on the GamePad. Will get it for 30c in an instant.

.......... I just hope they put LttP on the VC soon so I can say I've played both

Well I downloaded it tonight and I have to say it is a tough one of course this my first time playing it. Just a quick is there a way to double jump. I found an etank in the celing but I just cant reach it.

@Tasuki: No double jump dude. but there are Hi-Jump boots found later on and of course wall jumping as well.

Played a little while and saved after killing Spore Spawn. I've never tried speed runs but this time I think I'll at least try to get a good time. I'm not trying to get all items since I have no idea where some of those are. I really like Metroid games but to me it's all about beating them. I'm just too lazy to try speed runs and 100% items.

Wall jumping allows you to reach almost anything in the game, to the point of easy sequence breaking. I could explain how to do it, but there are some characters in Brinstar who can show you once you get power bombs.

In addition to gaining the Hi-Jump Boots, and wall jumping, you could also attempt to repeatedly bomb jump up to it (this takes precise timing to do this however, and I didn't get the hang of it until the game's end).

Well I bought this on the Wii VC at full price a while ago but never got round to playing it. Now about an hour in for the first time... damn it's good!

I've seen people talk about what % they've completed in this game. Where would I find % info?

It shows it when you beat the game, otherwise I am not sure

Played about half an hour again and killed Kraid and Crocomire. I still seem to remember where to go although I have only beaten it once about a year ago but that might change soon.

Can you only view it once you beat the game? Can you go back on the same save and shoot for 100%. Sorry, it's been 15 years since I've played...

No, you have to gather everything in one go. Then you have to beat the game to see your percentage.

I have to ask. Has anyone received their CN coins for downloading this game on the Wii U VC?

No and I didn't for any of the other promo games either. Not that it would matter that much given there's nothing much at all to get in the Australian stars catalogue right now. I did get my couple of cents worth of points on the Nintendo Network Premium promotion thing but

@skywake You got that right, club nintendo is bare as usual and I have 4100+ star points (not including points cards laying around), I wish they'd offer VC games or even those CN DS games that japan received. I don't really see myself maxing out my Premium promotion thing anytime soon, but oh will be awesome to get $5 credit when I do.

Any tips for the wall jumps? I could never master them.

Well lets see, so far I got the Charge shot and the Hi Jump boots as well as Super Missles, bombs and normal missles. Also defeated some plant spore boss thing. Would have played more but the game pad ran out of juice. The more I play this game and the further I get the more and more I am enjoying it.
