The eShop should detect your game on the Wii VC and it should offer a price of $1.50

nintendo does not just use an emulator for their virtual console titles. just because we've been used to emulators that can play just about any rom, doesnt mean thats how they do it. from what i understand they pretty much make an "emulator" specific for each game, and thouroughly test it for quality to make sure its as close to 100% as possible.

Does anyone know why Nintendo have decided to release the European Version for EU this week ?

I would have thought the big N would have learned from when they started releasing Wii U VC games, they were in 50hz for EU, it p**sed most Wii U users off, me included

Instead of ALTTP, the US will be getting Double Dragon. After all, only 1 VC game per week.

Of course they use an emulator. They're not going to rewrite every VC game from scratch, or they'd never be able to release them as quickly as they do.

Thursday? Damn. Won't have enough funds, since I'm buying Super Mario 3D World, Wind Waker HD, The Wonderful 101 and Deus Ex tomorrow.

Maybe next week.

Downloaded Link to the Past, played few minutes and when I'm escaping with Zelda at the beginning of the game I get stuck inside a wall. Great start for the game.

may as well use this thread for Link to the Past discussion. If anyone really wants to.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Let me update the title, then.

I recently finished it again too. Still a phenomenal game after all these years. Top 3 Zelda for sure.

About halfway through Oracle of Ages now, but it's slow going. Plan on finishing all of Capcom's Zelda games over the next while.

So do people prefer A Link to the Past or Link's Awakening more? I personally prefer Link's Awakening.

I would normally prefer Link's Awakening, but I actually played it for the first time on the 3ds. So I have no nostalgia for it.

I'm much more familiar with ALttP because I got it for the GBA when that came out, so naturally I prefer it.

LA gets some extra points because I do have nostalgia for the oracle games, and they look the same. Also the sword is much more effective than in ALttP.

Eh, tough call. I like Link's Awakening for its general quirkiness, the story, the color dungeon in DX, and the numerous references to other Nintendo franchises, particularly when leading around the Chain Chomp.

I've only played A Link to the Past on the GBA, but I appreciate it due to the amount of dungeons, the story, boss fights, and the overall charm of the game in general.

...So I would lean towards ALttP, but LA comes close.

I want to say Link to the Past, but honestly I haven't played Link's Awakening in like 10 years and only a single playthrough, so I'm not very familiar with it. I'll have to give it a go again soon.

In general though I feel that the GB games were all basically like the original NES game, but with better level design, puzzles, bosses, and more charming characters and storytelling. Link to the Past is a pretty different thing, kind of unique in feel to the rest of the series.

Links awakening is amazing for the time and platform it was released. So it's a top tier original game boy title. However I feel it can't compete with how epic LTTP is. This coming from someone who owned and played both titles on release.

I love traveling light through Europe and run a blog about it at OneBagTravel.com
