That's good to hear. I'm actually quite looking forward to this one regardless of it's intended age group Kirby has always been slanted towards kids, after all

"We’re also looking to create a game that is accessible to younger gamers as well as our ‘core’ fans... Sonic Colors is designed first and foremost to be fun... there will be things there that will please long time fans in addition to elements in the game designed to bring in new Sonic fans as well. We expect that all of these aspects of gameplay will result in an experience that gamers of all ages will truly enjoy. And the game is a great compliment to both Sonic 4."
If all of that ends up being true, they've struck gold. Sonic is supposed to appeal to gamers of all ages - even Sonic 4 should be designed with that in mind.
I never understood the backlash from the 'aimed at kids' statement. It's a videogame about a supersonic blue anthropomorphic hedgehog and his magical forest-dwelling chums. Of course it's aimed at kids. It's been aimed at kids since 1991. It's just enjoyable enough (your mileage may vary on the last 15 or so years) for everyone else to like the series too. But then Sega says something and natural reaction is to bring out the burning pitchforks and shotguns, so ehn.
Sonic games was once NOT FOR KIDS, do you remember SHADOWN THE HEDGEHOG? ugh!
Dude. Let's be honest for a second. Sonic and Mario are both aimed for younger audiences. It just so happens that the games are so well designed and fun that they appeal to a wider audience. Just because something is aimed for kids doesn't mean adults can't enjoy it too--it's not something to get upset about. Most of my favorite games are "kids" games.

I think people were PO'd because it's such a dumbdonkey thing to say. You'd think they'd get Sonic fans as a whole hyped up for both games, rather than saying, "Sonic Colors is for kids and Sonic 4 is for hardcore gamers."
It's absolutely idiotic PR. I don't personally care, because the PR guys aren't making or designing the game, but it's still a stupid thing to say.
Darn! I was hoping that the game wouldnt give You Grades... (I hate Grades) Oh well hopefully It wontbe as harsh with grading

Pokémon also says, "Hello."
I think the biggest problem was that some people thought they were implying that this one would be too casual, meaning that the gameplay won't be deep enough and there won't be enough challenge.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
@Bulbasaurus Rex: Considering the obscenely high level of total BS "challenge" (read: unfair difficulty) in Sonic Unleashed, I think we could stand to have it toned down a bit. In fact, I think the vast majority of the series has an unfair difficulty curve; usually the direct result of bad design (enemies popping out of nowhere for cheap hits), bad controls (controlling a character who moves that fast is insanely hard, especially in 3D), or both. I'm cautiously optimistic for Colors to break those trends to some degree. Realistically, though, it'll probably still be too unfair.
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P

This. Sega's idea of a difficulty curve is increasing the number of nigh-unpredictable cheap kills. Keep them down and I'm sold.
Well, I'm already sold, it's a Sonic game. I HAVE LOW STANDARDS.
As long they don't give Sonic ( A Wepon, Beast Powers, A 2nd Head, Two Swords, Turn in to a Vimpire, Put Pants on, Another Doppelganger look alike Sonic, A New Sidekick, and A Brand New Car.
Don't put any of that Sega and we have a good Sonic game.

Well....... The script for Sonic Colors was written by MadWorld and Happy Tree Friends writers, Ken Pontac & Warren Graff.
We may see some gore O.o
