What, motion control? Yes, but the Wii was the first system to be successful with motion control, and it was arguably much better than Sony's first attempt.

It was way better, but that doesn't change the fact that they still did it before Nintendo did.

Really? Didn't WarioWare: Twisted and Yoshi Topsy Turvy come out before the PS3? >:3

because that would make the wii experience totally better. a little more competitive, and it make you want to play more.

that's your opinion. I have a PS3 & really don't give a flying monkey's butt about getting trophies (PS3 version of achievements) More then half of them you get just by playing the game normally anyway.

Turn system on - achievement
you know what an achievement is - achievement
Loaded a game - achievement
downlaoded a game - achievement
because we like you - achievement
plugged in a controller - achievement
wasted 15 consecutive weekends - achievement
having some idiot berate you because you haven't unlocked all achievements so he thinks you're a noob - achievement
Thinking achievements actually mean something when they are really useless - achievement
made toast - achievement
tied your shoe - achievement

& then there's the achievements that ask you do do things such as, beat the game on all difficulty settings, finding all secret rooms using no weapons in under 30 seconds........

If you want to show off what little life you have to your loser friends then be my guest, (achievement) but I'll pass.

Flandre Scarlet, she's cute, she's colorful, she can blow up entire cities, she's also a vampire. Start running sparklepants.

Sony's motion control was on the PS2, so no, it released first. Those games were both released in 2005, the Eyetoy for PS2 released in 2004.

I think Nintendo should steal it!
Microsoft stole the Mii idea so I say Nintendo has the right.

How is "bragging about how much better you are at a video game" part of "community"? The Nun-chuck is part of the Wii's controls. Achievements are just there because it gives people who have already played the game something else to aim for, not because it's part of community. They might be part of what YOU call "community, but they're definitely NOT part of what I call "community".

I like achievements because in some games it does give you other things to shoot for than just playing through and beating a game. As for the community aspect of it I look at it like this, say you're playing a game and one of the achievements is to reach a sub level boss encounter but you just can't figure it out so you are missing out on part of the game but you can find someone that has that achievement and ask them for help. Is it necessary with sites like Gamefaqs? No, but it does lead to a greater feeling of bonding over a game and helps the "community" aspect that they want.

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

Give me a minute, I'll edit it in. You have to know a certain meme to understand this one.

I'd enjoy an achievement-type system on the Wii. In some cases, it goes a LONG way to promoting community involvement. For example, in Gears of War, you can only unlock certain achievements by playing cooperatively. (I'm sure there are tons of other games that have similiarly based achievements as well...Halo in PvP comes to mind). It's also a clever way to get some replay value.
