Topic: Wii Sports Resort is the high water mark for Sword Fighting on any console, and archery as well...

Chicken -The arcade game design - Sports Resort grows MUCH more difficult than the combat in TP or whichever. I mean, I like that, instead of messing with difficuly through heart containers and faries and potions, you get 3 hearts, no matter what and prgoress through harder enemies. As opposed to leveling off the difficulty so most players can complete the game and see the resolution of a story. As Adam says sometimes combat in Zelda can become more or less 'busy work' enemies to cut down in between point a and point b, In Resort Combat IS the point a and the point b!

I meant for this to be a broad topic - I do not see the point in lecturing people as if your opinions are law and no one would ever have a different viewpoint...

This is not hating on Zelda, my goodness is it not notable that thie game features combat in the first place and such well done combat in the 2nd place???

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

I'm just singling this out for easy access, as I'll probably want to remind you of it many times in the future.

I can't stand Z-targeting. I don't need the game to do things for me. Combat was much more fun in the 2D games where it was actually challenging.

If there's one thing I hate in a 3D sword game it's missing the enemy by 45 degrees and executing an entire combo in mid air. I liked Z-targeting in Wind Waker, though I found it a pain in Ocarina of Time, since it targeted the wrong enemy WAY too often.

But yeah, Link's Awakening has the best combat in any Zelda, IMO.

Actually, I think OoT's Z targeting is great. It is fun to hack and slash enemies with ease. But, I think A Link to the Past and Majora's Mask is much more challenging.

I liked Oracle of Season's combat. Dont have a problem with Z targeting though. I did like combat in Phantom Hourglass, even though it was easy.

It would be interesting to have M+ as an OPTION in a new Zelda, but not a requirement. I personally would love to play a Zelda using the M+ mechanics from WSR's swordplay and archery, but Nin should give players the OPTION of playing without M+ and using the pointer for archery and more basic motion control for sword fighting. though I will admit that the sword controls in TP feel "tacked on" (well actually, they ARE tacked on, it was originally a GC game so there) So it should be better next time around no matter what

It's a me, Luigi!
