Topic: Why not adding the block size to the downloadable games' overview as WiiWare World did?

It was very useful to decide purchases and would still be, since DSi cant launch games directly from the SD card
(And, given the time and complains the Wii needed to get this feature, I doubt the less popular DSi will ever do it)

I think the problem is that the block size differs between regions and given the SD Storage solution it's not that relevant any more.

If this is a DSi-specific request then I'd suggest posting it in the DSiWare forum. I wasn't aware that DSi cannot launch from SD -- kind of takes the shine off a bit, doesn't it?

We used to have the different block sizes for each region listed just fine on VC Reviews.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

The long and short of it is that this is too much hassle for us to maintain. Since the SD card update listing this info is purely academic as they are as cheap as chips! (sorry about the pun)

I think as the DSi library grows they will add the same SD card support the Wii has.

Solution? Solution? It's a way to harm your Wii's NAND flash. Almost everyone calls it a solution (even Nintendo).
SD-card streaming is a solution! If we have that, then we have a solution.
And btw, it's copying, not launching.

How does it harm the NAND flash? I suppose after playing hundreds of thousands of games there will be an issue, but I don't really see a problem for quite some time and I should think Nintendo would be enabling people to keep their downloads in the next gen or potentially launch a fix that allows direct launching from SD before then.

I agree Sean, it would be USEFUL only on DSiWare, and just "academic" on WiiWare. But I also like and support the uniform interface of this site, which would be broken if only one service had its block contents listed on the game overview. And if you think about it, there could be many people with more info. on their SD limiting their space, be it for Wii or other purposes.

About the SD card menu, personally I also hate calling it a solution since technically it is not, but I also agree that the chance of tearing the NAND flash is not that grave and that we might have more options way before this could happen to the most hardcore WiiWare or VC player (talk about 300,000 launches at least)

And Bass is right, We used to have the different block sizes for each region listed just fine on VC Reviews and WiiWare World.

I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you, I buy anything whenever I have the points and don't usually worry about space issues and that was before the SD card solution so I never had any problems. And I would usually go check my memory before I ever even bought anything so maybe thats why I never had any problems.
