Topic: The "What I Want Released Most On VC That Noone Ever Requests" Thread

Fear

There are a ton of these threads, but I wanted to see one filtered from all the SSB, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Earthbound, etc. etc. that shows up a zillion times in the others. Sure these are popular titles, but what other long lost gems can you conjure up? Here's the four that come to mind - i'll add others as they come to me:

1. Lufa II: Rise of the Sinistrals (I know Corbie had this up somewhere, but I've seen little mention of it otherwise. This is one of the best RPG's ever and gets little credit from what I've seen. Can you say Ancient Cave!?)

2. Rock n' Roll Racing (Easily one of the best multi-player games of all time. The replayability of this game puts so many new generation console multi-player games to shame. Cool soundtrack too!)

3. General Chaos (Another awesome 2-player game not to be overlooked.)

4. Dark Wizard (So this would require a Sega CD appearance to the VC world. Shoot me. A fun, tactically turn-based RPG with lots of beefy cutscenes.)

What do you want to see on VC that you NEVER see talked about??

I'm trying to stay on topic. I left out a bunch that get requested a lot.

The Empire Strikes back (NES)
Wizards and Warriors (NES)
Prince of Persia (NES)
Jackal (NES)
Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures (SNES)
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (N64)
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (N64)

Sunset Riders. I don't think this has ever been requested.

Space Station: Silicon Valley (N64)
A Gem of a puzzle/platformer that involved using the powers of many different animals (From sheep, to elephants, to rocket-firing robot dogs) to clear objectives. It was from the makers of Grand Theft Auto, and of course that's the main reason I don't expect to see it anytime soon, if ever.

And I'm drawing a blank for any other games that wouldn't be considered popular. I rarely ventured out of the range of the familiar during the cartrige days.

What does the being the makers of GTA have anything to do with releasing some obscure N64 game on VC?

On-topic: Here's what I want to see:

X-Men: Children of the Atom (Capcom, 1994, Arcade) If MVC 2 can come out on PSN & XBLA, then why can't X-Men: COTA come on the VCA?

Fatal Fury Special (SNK, 1993, Neo Geo) I'm fairly confident this game will come soon, if not eventually.

KOF 1999 (SNK, 1999, Neo Geo) It might take a while for this game to hit the VC. Around 5-6 years at least.

Iron Clad (Saurus, 1996, Neo Geo CD) It might also take a while. Around 4-6 years at least.

L.A. Machineguns: Rage of the Machines (Sega, 1998, Arcade) This too could take a while. Around 5-6 years?

Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge (Nintendo, 1993, Super NES) I'm fairly confident that nintendo will add support for Super Scope games. Otherwise, it's just another game that people can expect to see on the next Nintendo system's VC.

Simply enough, Take Two (Rockstar's parent company) doesn't support the Virtual Console, and even if they did, N64 + 3rd party don't seem to mix very well on the VC.

Anyway, back on topic.

Hows about Zero Wing for the VCA? I want to see if there's anything in the game besides ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US.

Lufia II sounds good as well. Haven't played that game in forever, and I don't remember much about it (I was like 7 when I played it). I'm just an RPG nut, so I'll buy pretty much anything in the genre.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

You should definitely make another run through it. I'm sure you can really appreciate its greatness now not being so young. I could ramble all day about why this game rules, but no need for that. Hope you have an old copy though unless you don't mind running emulators. Ebay auctions for it like to not get under $30-$35 just for the cartridge. I've been digging for mine for a while now and can't find it. It makes me want to punch a baby right in the face (jk!).

If you make another run through it be sure to let us know what you thought of it!

P.S. Cool list so far guys.

Super Bomberman 2, or as I like to call it, the best Bomberman game ever (imo, obviously)! Stupid Hudson and their stupid Turbografix Bomberman games...

Also, Pieces! Not very likely since it's an Atlus game, but it'd sure be nice...

Also, Adventures of Lolo 3. I've mentioned it around here a few times, but nobody else seems to care at all, which bugs me.

Act Raiser 2. I never got to play it, and it would make sense to release since the first was the first Squenix VC game.

Fire 'N Ice. Classic puzzle game, semi-related to Solomon's Key (only this one is good).

I'm sure I could think of more, but that'll do for now.

My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P

Snow Bros. for the Megadrive -- I'm figuring the odds are I'll never see the arcade game on the VCA (no clue who owns Toaplan's IP) and the Megadrive version had extra levels and cut scenes which sound pretty sweet. I don't care if it comes out in Japan or elsewhere. This was on the Japanese release schedule last year and got pulled, so possibly there's annoying rights issues at play; hopefully they can be sorted!

@Fear: We'll see if I'll be able to do that sometime. Right now all my extra cash is being sucked into the black hole that is college, and I refuse to emulate. But if I get the chance, I certainly will.

Right on. I refuse to emulate myself. Out of curiousity, what are you majoring in?

Snow Bros. was an awesome game Sean. Definitely hope for a VC release of that one.

@ALDAWGZ I completely agree! I want that game. I'm sure licensing MJ's stuff from SONY might present a problem.

Superman 64. No one ever requests that and it's one of the best / worst games I've ever played. I'd download it in an instant.

@Fear: Right now I'm an English/education major. I'm not too terribly excited to be a teacher, but I need to be able to do something with that English degree.
