Where'd you get that idea? The game was only recently announced, and Nintendo is currently busy with NSMBWii (I think. Has it been released already?). Plus, they already have the basic engine fixed, so all they need to do is touch it up a bit.
In the interview with GTTV the other day, they said that they were in the process of finalizing it. If they canceled it, it would be a HUGE mistake on their part. They would have disappointed many fans, and lost a hell of a lot of money. They already showed trailers of it too, it won't be canceled.
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
Exactly! What games? NSMBWii is done, Other M is being worked on by Team Ninja and Nintendo R&D 1, while Zelda Wii and Pikmin 3 is being devoloped by Miyamoto's team (Nintendo EAD) and those games are still early in devolopment. And probaly every other game is being devoloped by a 2nd or 3rd party company. SMG2 is almost done and Nintendo cannot cancel this. Its too late and they would loose money. Btw, Super Mario 128 was merely a tech demo and the idea was put into Pikmin. Mario 64 2 may have been real though.
There was a Super Mario 64 2?? Super Mario 128 I kinda knew about, but still.... Anyway, I feel Super Mario Galaxy to be a great game; and if the sequel does come out, then I'll gladly give it the light of day.
I'm of the mentality that this will see a release. I was also under the impression that parts of the development of "64 2" & "128" wound up being "Sunshine" & "Galaxy. Wrong?
In the interview with GTTV the other day, they said that they were in the process of finalizing it.
i was just trying to remember where i had read that. starfox 2 was cancelled at pretty much the final stage, so it's not unprecedented, but that series is way more obscure than mario and i don't even know if they announced it was being developed beforehand. bear in mind that no franchise is more important to nintendo than mario, and if they were having problems something else would certainly be canceled first. mario galaxy is one of the best wii games so far, a sequel will be an instant success, nintendo already let everyone know it's nearly done and around the corner, demand is already building.... what would keep them from releasing it? even if they were working on a lot of other games, they obviously didn't have trouble seeing mario through to the end, because it's done!
Well, considering how Super Mario 128 and a 2nd Super Mario 64 didn't even have any official footage of the sort, and considering you can quite clearly see that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is practically finished already (the engine and elements are already there), no, it won't.
