Hmm... could it be possible that Nintendo is pulling an Excitebots on us again with this game?
Yeah because that worked out great for them.
As I'm sure European fans would agree.
Also, Nintendo Power does not seem to get initial reveals anymore, as far as I know (I don't read it). It would not make sense to use an outdated medium for getting the word out on one of their biggest franchises.
I will not believe this rumor until it is confirmed. Beside, unlike most gaming rumors, this is most likely to be called foul as the creator said he will not make an Star Fox game on the Wii.
Star Fox rumor confirmed false = more "NIMTEMPCO HASB UBANDEN DA HARBCORZ GANMERZ." stupidity.
I will not cross my finger and hope it comes true. I'll do that for Virtual Console games (Any games I want in fact.), but not so for this rumor.

I find it funny, yes funny - when people online hold companies responsible for 'poor' or percieved poor slaes of a game - the old - shoulda advertised more!
Just about everyone who would want to play excitebots knew about it - thats just what the audience for that game is....
I mean mainstream hardcore gamers are not just lemmings who get off on advertisng and hype - are they???
IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?
Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant. Right, Down, A, Down, Right, Up
I thought nintendo doesnt do anything for tgs. They have their own thing in october dont they? Thats when they announced punchout sin and punishment endless ocean 2 last year right?

So you're saying Nintendo, in no possible way, could have increased the publicity and sales of that game?
Well that goes along with your "Nintendo has never done anything wrong" approach, so it's not surprising.
I think it is the game that Retro Studios has been working on for the last year. I don't think Nintendo Power would announce it. Lets see what happens at Nintendo's fall conference before we get all hyped.
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
For those referring to statements by the Star Fox Creator, that's incorrect; he was unfortunately billed by some blogs as the creator when he made those remarks--because that makes a much juicier headline--but he was simply part of the company that helped to develop the special chip for the first Star Fox game on the SNES. As we've been over before in other threads, the concept, level design, production, and just about everything else was created by Nintendo in-house for the first Star Fox. And as for the greatest iteration in the series, Star Fox 64, this guy's company had zero involvement, not even a special chip; it was all handled by Nintendo's EAD. So, take his statements with a grain of salt, if that.

Yeah sure, blame the fans for not buying a game that just hit the shelves with no fanfare, publicity, or advertising.
@RandomWiiPlayer: Retro!? Starfox?! That sounds awesome! I hadn't even considered that possibly, I just assumed Retro would be workin' on a new IP, but thinking about... hmmm.
