We're in a deep recession right now with 9.7% unemployed including myself so it'll help people budget better and save more money. Heck, maybe the recession is one of the reasons why VC games have decreased from 2 or 3 like before.
And is Japan's financial status really THAT much better than ours that they can continue to see piles of releases? I doubt that's the ONLY factor we're dealing with, and probably not even the largest. I would agree that lack of download titles I want is sort of a good thing right now, because I REALLY can't afford them (I have a job, but not many shifts, and my income is low).

I just got laid off 2 days ago.I needed that money. Buying games and paying rent is all i live for. I haven't attempted to get another job yet. I've been slouching around the house. It's very depressing not having money for games, food, cigarettes, gas, bills and all that.I can relate to you guys about money problems that for sure.

Wow, so I wasn't the only one thinking the cigarette thing. I wasn't going to say it first and seem rude and/or insensitive, but I do agree with pie4prez and marktheshark. Now, I'm not trying to simply rag on you, odd69. Rather, I think this is a serious situation that could probably use some examination, especially with you out of a job.

It is a good thing that they're releasing 1 VC game per week. Why? It might not be good now, but in the long run, you'll be glad they did. We don't want too many games at once, do we? It's so obvious. Bass X0 keeps saying that but he can't get it through anyone's skulls. Sad ain't it?
It's not encouragement. Merely an observation. The right game can last for weeks until he finds another job. A cigarette only lasts about a minute. So he'll need a lot more of them. I also notice no one picked up on the fact that he's still spending money on food. Just skip one meal and you can afford that one good game.
To put it simply; no it's not a good thing that we still get 1 lousey VC game each Monday! It just take forever for the rest of the good first party games to come out; when clearly a lot of games some people don't care about get released!
Namely, okay all of the stupid-ass Star Wars games are out now; now I STILL FOR BLOODY CHRIST SAKES HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 8 OF THE LONGEST MONTHS OF MY LIFE FOR SUPER SMASH BROS 64!!!!
And recescion or not... the economy doesn't have anything on video games in general! It's the company's fault & that's it! Namely Nintendo's & with their little first party suppport on the VC... which it's taking forever to release classics! Or the better licences games we all want; & not the crap we don't want!
Need I list other examples; other than SSB64: Super Mario Kart Yoshi's Island TMNT 4 Turtles in Time Castlevania Rondo of Blood coughearthboungcough blah blah blah!
Favorite Song from The Crow City of Angels: I'm Your Boogie Man by White Zombie Favorite The Crow Quotes: "It can't rain all of the time!" "It's not a good day to be a bad guy, huh?!" "Victims, aren't we all!"
@The+Cow: If playing SSB64 is that big a deal and that important to you, you can probably track down an N64 and a copy of the game for less than $40 on Ebay. (Cheapest I've found was around $28)

...And the swearing is unnecessary.
First off I'd rather not get another N64 again; I'm not that kind of person big on cash! And if I want classics I've been waiting 8 long grueling months to appear on the VC; then that means I've been so neck deep & mad with Nintendo! And I'll swear if I want to; I have every blasted right to do so!

Just like everyone on Nintendolife has a right to complain.
I don't think it's right for anybody to tell anybody who's waiting for SSB64 on VC to just get an N64 and the game, as the odds you can get all that for $10 or less are pretty much zero, especially if you want to play multiplayer and already have plenty of Gamecube/Classic Controllers around. Heck, I HAVE an N64 and all the controllers I could need, and it would STILL cost less than half the cost of a SSB64 cart to download it on VC!
I'm not even saying I personally want it oh-so-badly. Just pointing out the obvious flaw in the logic of those who carelessly suggest buying original hardware/software. Also, I believe that any North American Nintendo fan who's looking forward to this specific game on VC and has had to watch Japan and Europe get it released with no release for us over these months has every right to be pissed off, just like I am with NPC Pikmin 2 (retail Wii game, but we all get the point, right?)!

@Stuffgamer1: I wouldn't normally suggest that to someone who wanted a game, but Cow's statement:
"I STILL FOR BLOODY CHRIST SAKES HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 8 OF THE LONGEST MONTHS OF MY LIFE FOR SUPER SMASH BROS 64!!!! "
sounds pretty desperate, which is why I mentioned that option.
Anyway, I do think it's rather ridiculous that Nintendo hasn't released SSB in NA yet, when it's already out in EU and JP. I won't be buying it myself, mind you, but I must say I'll be glad when it finally does come out so the angry fans will be appeased.
