the picture of the system does line up with a "leaked" photo console, i vote real!
All the children try to run, To him its part of the fun. His branching arms are for collecting, His face is empty of expressing. He sometimes hums a lowly drone, He will wander 'round your home. Dressed in darkest suit and tie, He won't let you say goodbye.
Fake-O-meter isn't bleeping... Hmmmmm.... Not quite sure... I love how the controler looks, but will wiimotes still work as another option? I would sooner not discard my wiimote+s. My only worry is the price. I can't save up for 3DS games and the wii2 at the same time! especialy with $60 controlers.
monster hunter tri: name: hakota HR 140+ / flipy HR 1 On: every other dayish. Current games: MHT, Kirbys Epic Yarn, SMG2, SSFIV. 3DS friend code: 3823 - 8517 - 3969 Wishlist: OoT3D, Mariokart3D, Kid icarus 3D, LoZ Skyward sword, and (in my imagination) Monster Hunter 3D.
Fake. Seriously. The screen on that controller appears to be outputting better graphics than a 3DS. Whilst I'm not arguing that this isn't technically viable, please for a second consider the hilariously lacking business sense behind putting a console out where extra controllers would set you back the kind of price you'd usually spend on a handheld console. Seriously they'd be like £90 - £130 a time ($145 - $210). It also appears to be about as ergonomic as a potato, you'd need thumbs like Cthulu's tentacles to reach the +, Home and - buttons.
The controller isn't producing the visuals, it's just displaying them via the stream function.
Which would still require a higher or equal resolution to the 3DS's screens. And the controller has to be able to receive and process stream data extremely quickly to display it on the screen (we're talking streaming video here, effectively, not a few bytes of Mii data). Which means it has internal memory and some kind of CPU.
Oh and also, if the console is streaming them, then it means the console is rendering four images at once, and the image on the TV. Presuming the controller displays are not all identical to what's on the TV, because that would be completely pointless. The horsepower it would have to have to do that would be insane.
I don't doubt that it will have some type of CPU inside of it, but not one nearly as complicated or expensive as a DS or 3DS system. And once again, much of this is still speculation, but if this console does what Nintendo has said it will do, the controllers might very well be rather expensive by today's standards. We'll just have to wait and see.
@Corbs Sorry to sound ignorant, but I haven't been following the Project Cafe rumors very closely: then what's the point?
I don't know where the 'Project Cafe' title derives from, but the other name we are hearing is 'Stream', and if this video is true, it looks like the console streams the image output directly to the controller. My guess is that the console doesn't even utilize a TV, because with the console doing all the work and sending the image to the controller itself, it could create much higher quality visuals than the 3DS and/or Wii in a handheld form. Basically creating a handheld/console gaming experience all-in-one, and this is something that I can definitely see Nintendo doing, but do remember that this is all me playing hypothetical guessing games - we will know for sure in a few short weeks.

@turtlelink I think that little idea in my head could have some possibility. We have been seeing these internet game-streaming companies trying to surface to eliminate consoles, but what if the console streamed the game to a HD controller? I think the controllers would be expensive of course, but it would definitely be something new.
