@ThanosReXXX ah, none taken. It was just my opinion. I just never had a liking for any of the games in that era. And the OP’s title of this forum was “is it worth getting another Wii?”. So I explained in my opinion why you shouldn’t. I understand how it came off though so I’m sorry

@Apportal True enough, that is the title of the forum topic, but that's usually only a hint towards the actual topic, so it's always handy to react to the actual post, instead of just to the forum topic title...

@Stets CEX sell wii's for 40 euro ( about 45 dollars ) When there in stock. i bought one there for 30 euro a year ago. they also have cheap gamecube games , around 5 euro to 12 for some good games , delivery cost is only about 3 euro for games. theres some good deals on ebay but bidding can keep going to maybe 80 euro for a wii with 3 games, but there is some good bargains on it . on amazon wii parts can be sold seperatley and can work out cheap if put a wii together out of the separate parts. new wii's go for about 300 euro on amazon.not sure if them ones they sell in CEX work in america. maybe you would know that.

@Ninfan
To tell you something.
Here in Indonesia, i can find an used Wii with very cheap price.
The lowest price i have found was about US$ 20, mostly machine only without box.
For machine with box, i found the price range between US$80 - US$150.
I used US$ currency to explain how expensive those things since in Indonesia we use Rupiah as our currency with US$1.00 = around Rp 14,500

@Anti-Matter i saw in tokyo where you could buy a damaged DS for 1 euro ( around 1 dollar ) the touch screen was damaged if you know how to change the screen's around with another DS it can work out cheap as that.i gave some one 1000 euro about 14 years ago and got a load of stuff. but you really need to know the mechanic's.

@damien33ad when will these gamecube and Wii game be ported to the switch. Will all games be ported to the switch. How many Wii and gamecube games are already on the switch.

New user here. I'd recommend buying a Wii I since it still has an Eshop, or a gamecube since it can play gba games, make sure you get an early model gamecube if you want to use component cables.
If you prefer not to use the gba feature, get a wii cince it has no problem with component.
If you strictly want Wii games, Wii U all the way, and to recommend, the Wii has the single best version of Resident Evil 4.

@Ninfan : The Wii Shop Channel closed in January 2019.

@jruasap Really? Didn't know that. I wonder how much use it is though, seeing as it's a rather gimped model.

@damien33ad Seeing as he mainly wants another Wii to be able to play GameCube games, it wouldn't be very useful for him to wait until any of these games might possibly appear on the Switch at all.

After all, Nintendo hasn't shown any signs of it so far, so I'm not expecting it any time soon. If ever...

The only way I see skyward sword coming to the switch is if they bundle it with a wiimote and sensor bar 😉.
Skyward sword was on the Wii and it didn’t sell well. It was also sold on the Wii u eshop aswell as being backwards compatible. I can’t see them porting it again for the switch.
Then again Nintendo did do twilight princess for the gamecube, Wii and Wii u😉

@1UP_MARIO Well the joy-cons have motion controls too, so they could have that as an option. (Then again, there were no motion controls on Twilight Princess HD...) Also, Xenoblade Chronicles came out on the Wii U eShop and that was literally the original Wii version, just in a digital format. And lo and behold, it got remastered for the Switch. So I think Skyward Sword HD could happen. We just don't know if it'll happen because Nintendo hasn't said a word on it.

@MarioLover92 they do have motion but if you hold the right joy con as you do your wiimote the iR sensor is behind the right joy con. It’s a possibility 😉

MarioVillager92

@1UP_MARIO Ah you're right, I totally forgot about that. I'd say if they were to have motion controls for SS HD, they'd need to start from scratch, just make it for the joy-cons.

@damien33ad Still doesn't apply to what the OP mentions, though. He didn't specifically mention Zelda games, and he definitely didn't mention Wii games.

He wants to play GameCube games ON the Wii, NOT Wii games on the Switch, so I gave him some tips that are actually useful, instead of theorizing what might or might not come to the Switch, and GameCube games are DEFINITELY not coming to the Switch, far as we know now.
