If you already have a remake of a classic game, will you still download the original if it comes to the VC?
Banjo-Kazooie - I don't know, since they only altered it to account for it being on the 360 instead of the N64 TMNT2- Yes, since it'd have the classic NES layout.

Unless they took out something significant for the remake and I own the original console, no.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
Yeah, I like the originals much more than remakes. That's probably why I got the original FF4 for VC instead of the DS remake!

Ahem. This wasn't a "remake vs original" thread. This was a question asking whether you'd get the original even if you already had the remake (e.g. getting Yoshi's Island even if you already have the GBA version).

GBA Yoshi's Island isn't exactly a remake though. Its a port to a handheld but has some extra levels. It remakes nothing.
The only reason someone would get the SNES original (or on VC) is if they preferred to play it on a full size screen.
A better analogy is to ask if someone would want to play SNES Final Fantasy II after playing DS Final Fantasy IV.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
If I didn't already have SMB3 on the NES, I'd definitely get it for the VC. The remake adds the annoying e-Reader function and the unnecessarily large inventory window.

How is seeing all your items at once unnecessary as opposed to only being able to see a small selection of items and have to switch between lines to see them all? Its not like you need to see the map screen as well.

Yeah. I had Yoshi's Island on GBA and got the SNES one later.
Me too ! Internet high five ! As for me, it really depends if the remake is for the the worse or not. And it also depends on the price (Chrono Trigger on the SNES? Hell no! I like the DS one)
Depends on the remake itself and how good it is, used to have the GBA game of A Link to the Past...Though, for some odd reason I found it was better on the big screen, lol. Then there's Superstar Ultra, never really bothered with getting the original on the VC.
