Topic: If you gifted the Internet Channel for 500 points you DON'T get a free NES game.

I'm bummed. I downloaded the Internet Channel in Beta and didn't pay for it. Then, I gifted the IC to my parents' Wii when we set them up on the internet over Christmas last year. SO, I DID pay for the Internet Channel. I eagerly anticipated 10/21's update to see if I would qualify for my free NES game. I excitedly downloaded the update hoping to get in on some old school gaming action. I boot up the shop channel, and there are no "one free game" options available to me (as the Nintendo mail suggested).

Has anyone else had the same experience? Am I missing something? I can't see WHY I didn't get a free game. My "download activity" button on the Wii Shop Channel still has a log of me spending 500 points on the Internet Channel for gifting.

So when it first came out and was free...that means I won't be able to nab a free NES game if I downloaded that thing then?

Nintendo says the recipient of the gift gets the free game. Strange but true.

Well you did send them a gift. A gift that is now free. The reciever gets the NES game so that the sender has still sent them a gift.

And apparently i can't get a free game, this sucks...>_>
But then again...seeing how I already have 600 points...eh...

Makes perfect sense to me.

Ask your parents very nicely to gift you a game back!

Don't tell them the details of the refund and ask for something expensive like World Of Goo
